I'm on 10mg of methatraxate once a week,and 200mg hydroxychoroqine a night I still get a lot of pain in my knees but if I stop taking meds

To be honest it's never gone away. Unfortunately RA is for life but the drugs can control it and prevent joint damage and deformity.

If you mean will the pain return then thats a chat for the Rheumy as he can advise you. But as you are still having pain you should maybe chat about that with them too.

Hope you feel better very soon.

RA can be suppressed with medications, and joint damage slowed, you will also go into periods of remission hopefully.

Sadly you will never get rid of this condition, deformity of joints will also be slowed.

If you need more information on treatments regarding above your RA Nurse of Gp will be able to help as they are the experts

Hi, If you are still getting a lot of pain then you should discuss this with your rheumy dept. You are not on a high dose of either of the drugs that you mention so they may want to increase the dosage. Sometimes RA can go into remission when it is treated well but if you are still suffering a lot of pain then it sounds as though it is still fairly active.

I'd agree with the other replies, it doesn't sound as though your RA is under control yet.
