I know that a few people do get helped by alternative treatments, but I've never found any of them any use at all. I trust the arthritis research website and here's link to what it says about collagen

arthritisresearchuk.org/art...

So personally I'd spend my money on something else.

Hello

Finitro Forte has been checked on Advertising Standard site as possibly questionable. You are best to view that site before purchase.

Several well known natural products are included in its manufacture

Always check with your rheumatologist about ANY supplements, as they usually have someone in the team who keeps a resource file of alternative supplements, etc. I once decided myself early on with my RA that I would take Boswellin tablets from the herbal shop and see how that went. Thinking them harmless I took them with my Sulphsalazine. My ESR was down to 5 and I had movement and no stiffness . It was fantastic . .but I was told to stop by a very experienced Rheumy Nurse who said that Boswellin in that form is a very very powerful plant steroid, which can interact. Shame as it seemed to do me so much good. She did say she couldn't stop me but it should NOT be taken with my Sulpha. . Thankfully the Sulpha started working and I threw away the herbals.

Good to hear Sulpha is working for you but ... maybe you should've kept the natural stuff and threw away the Sulpha :)

Sorry, Reef .. misleading on my part there ... I no longer take Sulphasalazine. It was my first RA med in 1996.. Lasted for ten years then faded. I did think in 1996, about if I should take the Boswellin by itself, but with so many herbals there aren't the trials and years of dedicated monitoring as there are with the regular meds.

Hiya Dora & welcome. Sorry to hear you're struggling with feeling tired. Do you think it's normal sleeplessness or do you think you may have RD fatigue? If it's the latter you really should see your Rheumatologist, your meds may need a bit of tweaking. If you don't have RD (Rheumatoid Disease or Rheumatoid Arthritis) please see your GP, if you're tired all the time it's better to find the cause. He may take some blood to see if you're slightly anaemic. Supplementing products that don't need a prescription can be an expensive way of trying to help yourself, particularly with this product, it begs the question why it's not recommend generally by Rheumatologists.

The UK & US versions of the Finitro Forte websites differ greatly for obvious reasons but the UK version says it's FDA approved yet in the US version there's no such claim oddly you'd think it would if it were true. The US version is also full of should's & may's in relation to what you can expect to achieve from it. Also it states that it "shows amazing results in the treatment of arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatic and other joint pains and is regarded as the most effective treatment worldwide" so it begs the question why our Rheumy's aren't prescribing it for us, it's not cheap retail but it may be to the NHS, if it works that is! One of the ingredients is collagen (2mg per tablet, one of the last listed so a very small amount). Helixhelix provided a link to ARUK site, if you haven't already it's worth reading.

I hope you find the cause of your tiredness, I know how it can be so wearing, I found I was also having cognitive issues which I found bothering. I'm ok now I'm properly medicated thankfully. I hope you find the cause & you're soon back to your normal self. 🙂

One reason I've replied to you Dora is because the person you've asked the question of is no longer a member, if there's 'hidden' where the username should be & a grey avatar they won't get your message. I didn't want you to think your question was ignored. With older posts like this it's best to check if you'll receive a reply, from the person you've asked.

I'm sorry to hear you're in need of a hip replacement, I can understand if you have to pay for it & being such an expense it must be a concern. If you feel it may help then try it, there is such a thing that if you believe it will work it can! I really would recommend seeing a traditional doctor though, if what you're currently doing isn't helping. A prescription strength NSAID will go some way to helping ease the inflammation & pain.

Take care.

I thought it was interesting....until I saw this when I tried to get some reviews: asa.org.uk/Rulings/Non-comp...

Looks like they cannot and will not back up their claims, but our Advertising Standards people seem powerless to stop them from making unsubstantiated claims.
