I can believe it with our good old health service!! Terrible.

Hi Allanah, are you type 1 diabetes? I had a bit of a thing few weeks back, one of my insulins, Novomix was faulty and being recalled apparently. I had to check the couple of packs I had in fridge, which did not show the faulty batch, but My sugars had been so high and low in the few months previously that I am sure I might have had some of the faulty stock, because I have evened out with my sugar levels now. I have sort of lost my confidence a bit now. Where on earth are the supplies being sourced from? We diabetics have to put so much trust into our supplies, our lives depend on it.

I have not had probs with test sticks and machine that I know of though.

On a separate diabetes/ RA thing, just lately my glucose levels are going very high in the two days following Methotrexate injection, so needing to increase insulin significantly. I am so fed up with needles, 5 insulins a day, plus three glucose finger prick tests. My weekly MTX is easy compared to the diabetes management.

The reason for my diabetes is that I had large pancreatic cyst removed five years ago and it damaged my pancreas so does not produce enough insulin. The cyst was caused by Sjogrens and I have to have a yearly endoscopy to check no more have popped up! Oh, the joy of auto immune diseases!!

Hope your rheumy gets back to you soon and you get the answers you need, take care, lynda x
