Anti TNFers - do you notice if you miss/delay a dose?

I inject cimzia fortnightly. I keep picking up infections, so have had to delay doses and I really notice if I've been delayed for more than a week or so because my RA symptoms start raging.

Anyone else experience this?

Hi.

I can't say that I've gone into a flare when I've not taken my anti-tnfs but I do notice a difference when I go back on them.

I think that I may have reached a happy position where my disease activity has calmed down pretty much and that I may be able to start reducing my mtx injection next year.

I'm guessing that your RA must be quite active still then and that the anti-tnf is doing a great job at suppressing it. With it being active you are more likely to notice the change - just a guess.

I do hope the infections you are picking up slow down a bit for you. It might be worth mentioning it to the rheumy team though in case they need to look again at the dosage.

Thank you for replies. They have reduced injected MTX down to 15mg and I'm hoping to come off Leflunomide too. The combo of the 3 means I'm constantly getting chest infections and urine infections.

Hi fruitcake

I've not had much luck with my humira, when I've stopped it I've not notice any difference. Plagued by infections every month, urine, chest snd sinuses. Stopped all drugs completely till the new year now. Consultants advice.

Massive flare at the moment, just had a depomedrone injection on friday.

Good luck hope you feel better soon.

I only inject once a month, and have a two week window either side. Have taken early then taken a day late and made no difference to my RA.....however all of us are different
