Do you suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)?
Are you currently receiving a first anti-TNF treatment?
Would you like to be involved in a research study?
Male and female volunteers aged over 18 are required to participate in a research study on Rheumatoid Arthritis called SWITCH. This research is important for the community and will provide us with new information on how best to use the treatment options available for RA patients whose symptoms are not improving with their current anti-TNF treatment.
If you have been diagnosed with RA and are currently receiving a first anti-TNF drug (e.g. Remicade, Enbrel, Humira, Cimzia & Simponi) together with methotrexate then you may be suitable to take part.
The study will compare three different treatment options that are available to patients who are not responding to their current treatment. You will receive one of these options, although neither you nor your doctor will be able to choose which you receive.
You would be involved in the trial for up to 96 weeks and the number of visits you would attend would be similar to that in routine NHS care.
