Bus Trans patch - nauseous?

I started on these patches last week, I changed one yesterday but today feel very nauseous & yuck - I'm not sure if it's the patch or something else. I never get queasy!!

I've taken Metaclopromide as well.

Has anyone else experienced this? I can usually take pain relief with no problem.

Hello Pauline

Sorry you are feeling so yucky. I haven't used these patches but I do understand that opiate based drugs can cause nausea (I think the Butrans are opiate based). With morphine I was told that nausea usually eases once you get used to the meds so maybe that's what will happen for you once you get used to the new medicine. I do hope you feel better soon.

I tried these patches, however they didn't work for me, I carried on taking my slow release morphine for the first two days off the patch, however on the day I didn't take any morphine the following. Day I was a total wreck!

I was in total agony from head to toe ( as I was already in a bad flare) and my body was missing the morphine too but the pain was the worst bit, I had forgotten truly how bad my pain was ( especially from my back problems) I was sick , shaky and a mess the doctor came out and I explained how I felt I was worried I was withdrawing off pain killers and this was why I felt so bad, the doctor said yes I was but I was still in immense pain so that needed sorting before worrying abut anything else they put me back on my slow realesse morphine and I'm still on it now I've tried to wean down but then my pain isnt confrolled so I can't win :(

Is it the kind of patch that has liquid in it? Have you had heat over the patch area, or has that area of your body got a bit too hot? It might be that it is absorbing out too fast, which I think can happen sometimes. If the nausea doesn't ease off fairly quickly, or if your breathing or heart rate changes significantly, then it might be best to remove the patch.
