Drat 2013

Morning all, well today's my Birthday and RA just won't let up on me!! So far this year I've had 2 emergency ops......one in Feb that saw me loose my appendix and a Fallopian tube and one 2 weeks ago that removed an ovary that was bleeding. I'm currently on Rituximab , methotrexate , tramadol and yet again the dreaded oromorph .........soon I will be having my 3 rd round of Rituximab infusions as both the others have failed in spectacular style.......does anyone else have Rituximab failure ( this is my last try.....but hey, the Cimza put me in hospital twice so it's progress of sorts)......if so what's next?? I'm that busy working my way through meds that don't seem to work and letting Manchester university profile my failures that I'm beginning to wonder if there are any meds out there that work lol. Hope ur all having a pain free day

firstly - happy birthday! Secondly, I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so unwell. I was up ages ago because of the pain in my hip and it is pouring with rain and looking very grey outside (just the way I feel). I do hope that as the day progresses you feel better. It may be good that the university are monitoring your "failures" at least you are "in the spotlight" and not forgotton. I changed from oral mtx to injections 7 weeks ago and feel no better and as my DAS has gone from 5.89 to 6.26 in the last 4 or 5 months I am hoping for something new being suggested next week. Again, happy birthday x x

Sorry for both of you - I have not suffered from RA in this way so I can't say more than extending my sympathy. I do relate to other problems with ovaries and gut but, although this is terribly bad luck for you, surely you can't blame RA or the drugs for these? However the ops may well have triggered or worsened your RA - which does sound very drug resistant. Good thing that Manchester uni is monitoring you at least. Tilda xx
