Last week I wrote about our cat who had had a funny turn. She didn't improve and we took her back to the vets on Friday and she was given a steroid injection. When the vet started to explain about steroid injections I could truthfully say' been there done that',We had to take her back this morning for further blood tests and will get the results this evening.Don't feel very hopeful.

Went to the dentist last Thursday. He pressed down so hard on my jaw I nearly shot out of the chair.I made the mistake of not taking any painkillers before I went. It's difficult to explain that when we haveRA everything hurts when pressure is applied.

Am being fitted with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor this afternoon.I've had this done before and it's not too bad.My blood pressure always shoots up when I go to the docs or the hospital and this is the only way they can get a true reading.Just hope it's ok as I don't want to have to take even more tablets.

Hope everyone is painfree today xxx

I do hope the cat is ok. Blood pressure is a funny thing to have. It will always go up when your stressed. I have high blood pressure, but happily it is stabllised now. Your cat must be coming out in sympathy with if it needs steroids. Funny thing is they say cats always seem to know when something is going to happen.

Do hope your not in too much pain.Sylvi.xx

To keep blood pressure down it's good to walk as much as possible or get some sort of exercise - not easy I know with RA for some people. Also my Nintendo Wii Fit tells me that I need to keep my breathing deep and not hold my breath at all or my blood pressure will rise. Good luck with blood pressure and your cat's test results. Our late cat developed a thyroid problem a few months after mine was diagnosed which was interesting since we were the two women of the house and both on Thyroxine. Tx

Gosh its all happening.. keep us posted on how the cat gets on.. does vet have any theory re the funny turn?.. Hope you get on ok with the blood pressure monitoring too xx

Hope you and the cat are feeling better soon x

I am both concerned and interested in your cat's case. My daughter-in-law is a Vet, and she thinks my cat has mild kidney failure. She drinks alot of water and puts out alot! But, she's active, she plays with her "critters", gets them out of her little toy box and strews them all over the floor during the night. She plays, loves catnip and chasing after a mouse hanging from the end of a fishing pole. So she gets exercise every day. Not much else to do, but give her a lower protein diet and plenty of water.

Good luck, I know it's a worry. Loret

Hi everyone.

The vet is now looking at the possibility of internal bleeding for our cat and we have to take her for an Xray and tummy exam on Thursday morning. She's still not right.I dread to think about the vet fees as if this is the problem she will need an operation.

My blood pressure is 159/74 so have to go to the docs tomorrow.More pills!xxx
