December 12 will be 2 years smoke free. Smoked 43 years. Many tears, posted inspirational messages on the fridge, nights on sites like this. I still focus on people smoking with laser vision but no longer feel envious. Told my son that I worked too hard to quit and could never go through that again.....no way EVER AGAIN!!!!!! You can do it too!!

Good for you Barndog. I will be 18 months on December 1st. I also smoked for over 40 years. You are so right in saying quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do. But we do it and learn to live a life without it.

Congrats to you! Nobody realizes how ingrained smoking is. For me it was even getting into my Jeep. Wanted to light up. We stay strong and change our everyday behavior one day at a time and eventually the cravings are less intense. Take care.

Great job barndog, I hit 2 years last July. I also smoked for over 40 years. Spoke with an old mate the other day who gave up a couple of years ago and we both agreed that we didn't think we felt a lot better but our pockets are healthier!!!! However 21,500 fags havent been ingested so must be heaps better. Stay strong

Totally agree. I will say that I no longer have my smokers cough but I do get a frog in the throat. Stay safe, as former smokers we have a higher risk of Covid. Best part of 2020 in the US? New president(woohoo!!!) and we all have a vaccine on the way Take Care and always remember the mountain that we have conquered.

Quitting was and at times is the biggest challenge ever. Congrats to you and your friend! I'm U.S. so no mate .

Very cool my friend. Stay true to the trail. You never regret stopping doing it. I'm 15 years no-longer-a-smoker in March 2021. All the very best from snowy Scotland.
