Allanahstops....Champix will not make you stop even if you take a double dose....

You must stop and Champix will assist..It is such a wonderful aid...but doesn't make you quit...Sorry if you expected more from Champix..

Set yourself targets of how you are going to reduce and stick to it...you should be able to stop at day 14...

Hi, I was still smoking around 10 a day. I decided that day 13 I would try and not have 1. And just like you I thought there's not a hope in hell I will quit. I honestly thought it wasn't working. But by day 11 the smell of smoke started to turn my stomach and day12 of smoking, I felt physically sick. So that's when I decided to quit the following day. Everyone is different, some ppl quit on day 3 and some ppl quit day 15. I think your best off waiting until you know your ready. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks smoke free for me, which I thought I would never say. Good luck 👍

Hey Vampire! And

Allanahstops, I have some great news for you,I too felt like you and just like Vampire 🧛‍♀️ I quit on day 13/14 of the Champix. I just decided I wasn’t going to waste any more money ( I had planned to quit on day 22)didn’t get that far so really you just need to decide to try to go for a few hours at first see how you feel at lunchtime maybe.. then try to go a bit longer the next day or whatever works for you.

You only need to take baby steps and take one day at a time. I think that one day at a time is really important because your brain tries to suck you into the next day, week, month or year and that’s so unhelpful.

If you only make an hour it’s an hour! If you make 2 hours that’s a massive achievement in itself! Imagine you made it to lunch without one? How amazing would you be!! You are amazing for even getting this far!!

Don’t be discouraged! It took almost 3 weeks until I really started feeling nauseous at the thought of a cigarette. I would light one, smoke it, and wonder why I bothered. I started to “forget” to have a cigarette and then just decided on a quit date then. It took me a month until I felt ready. I’m at 143 days now!

Hey there, don’t give up! It took me about 2 or 3 weeks to finally stop smoking while on Champix. I smoked for about 15 years, but here I am now 5 months smoke free, and I don’t miss it at all! Just keep remembering why you want to quit smoking, and start thinking of yourself as a non smoker. That was the biggest thing for me, I just kept telling myself I’m a nonsmoker now, and I don’t need cigarettes to make me happy lol. Congratulations on taking this huge step, and good luck!

Hi there. I stopped on day 8 because I’d said I would and the counsellor thought I was drifting when I said I needed more time. I did not expect it to be ok, but weirdly, it was. I was quite resentful, and miffed.

The pack says to stop between days 8 and 14, and I figure they spent lots of time and money working out what was best, so I would follow the instructions.

I have sabotaged lots of previous attempts and sadly seen others self sabotage on here. Follow the instructions and remember that champix makes stopping gentler, but you still have to do the work. If you still want to smoke, I suggest you write down what you like and what you don’t like about it.

Best of luck

Mmx

I used champix and although I only completed a 4 week course due to the side effects, I'm still a non smoker over a year and a half down the line. It didn't work as quickly as I thought it would but the sick feelings at the smell of smoke will kick in and makes you not want to light up! Stick with it as it does work, I smoked for 16 years and tried everything!! Good luck 😁😁🤞🤞

I'm doing well thank you 😘😘 apart from the flu/cold that keeps coming back, I do feel so much better for quitting!! Hope you're well too? Thought I'd check in as it's been ages 🙈🙈 xx

I stopped on day 18 but after 10 days I naturally reduced from 15 cigarrets to 2 then to 1 ....very soon you will start no feeling like smoking just keep it up ..do not stop taking the pills .this is your chance to repair your health . I haven’t smoke in 19 months and I never missed smoking again . 🚭

I was on day 11 before I tried to smoke a fag in the morning and it was so revolting I couldn't have another one, that was 3 weeks ago. Keep going and get a positive mindset, you will do it :)
