No nicotine now for 76 days - Freedom
Delighted that I’m now on the tail end of my prescription. Just taking one in the morning for another couple of days and then finished. It still seems strange not lighting up but hopefully that will disappear in time.

Thank you, it still is a day at a time and possibly certain triggers can be a bit hard but golly I can actually breath without wheezing and coughing all the time. I love not smelling of them as well.
I still find stress and unfairness hard to deal with and quite triggering. Not so much a craving as a thought. I think of my friends response when I told her I had stopped, "no one with half a brain cell smokes anymore, you should have stopped years ago."
Harsh, but true.

To be perfectly honest I’m really scared but my councilor tells me just the one tablet I’m taking in the morning is doing nothing I’m the one doing all the hard work!! It’s merely a placebo situation I’m in now but I simply can’t afford to blow this and start again. I’m sure you understand my apprehension of just stopping completely.
I get it. The champix has helped e so much,just don't know how it will be without it. Although I have forgotten it quite often and not smoked. We just have to be thankful for the start it's given us and grit our teeth if it is a bit more difficult. I really really don't want to fall back into hell,I hated myself for smoking. Did you know that people who quit and start again are at high risk of heart attacks? Just keel over and die, body no longer used to sucking in poison.

Hey Mummymonster and 2217 - the champix is not the magic pill making you not smoke, it just takes the edge of the cravings. 2217, your counsellor is spot on, YOU are doing all the work with not smoking as you, and you alone have to deal with the mental battle not to smoke. As said in your previous post Mm, keep that mindset that you want to stay in the light and keep posting - it really is a huge help when you have stop buddies to compare, share and support each other in your journeys Ye both have this!! 🚭💪
3 months smoke free now 2217 - how are you getting on?
The days are whizzing by, now 93 days nicotine free. I still get that crazy urge at times but my health is so improved. I think my body wonders what’s happening. I was 7.5 stone when I set out on this journey and I’m now 8.13 stones. I call it Winter Weight” but seriously more exercise and less snacking is needed. Loving the freedom.
