Doesn’t sound pleasant. I have been ill myself but am all recovered now. So glad Im not smoking because it could have been a lot worse.

I think my quit has contributed but that’s all ok, they say the first year is worse x

I agree. All of 2018 was a challenge but I accepted it when I chose to quit. I hit my year mark and December I really didn’t have any cravings. We have a snow storm today and glad I’m not outside smoking in it

My first year, especially the first 6 months, I was constantly coughing. But all for the best. I guess the effects of the gunk being cleansed.

NY was supposed to get hit with a big snow, but it warmed up, so mostly rain for 15 hours.

Hi hun, I’m at 8 months and it’s a chest infection

The coughing is awful, didn’t cough whilst smoking and didn’t when I give up but the gunk is being brought up now big time

Great to hear from you Monica1969 and that you are plodding along nicely. I am just over a very bad flu, the cough was the worst I ever had and would say if I was still smoking would have been hospitalized. Seemingly, it is a flu that is affecting alot of younger people rather than the elderly. My cough was that bad that I damaged my ribs but thankfully can move, laugh, sneeze etc... at ease now. It was so painful from before Christmas.

It will be no time before you are joining us in the Penthouse and spring/summer will be well on its way :)

PS The first snow is on the way for us here in Ireland, bitterly cold today!

Hi Roisin01 oh sounds like you’ve been through the mill too..!!! It’s been an awful virus hasn’t it?! Dr told me if I’d left it much longer I’d have pneumonia 😱 anyway, like you, I’m in the mend

Oh yes that penthouse will be getting full lol

Don’t think we will get the snow, it is cold here though xx

I didn't go to the doctor as hate them and don't like taking medicine or antibiotics, vaporized sometimes twice a day with Olbas oil, great stuff and cleared all the congestion I had in chest, nose, head and even eyes and ears, my sinuses were really affected, never experienced a flu like it :O

Monica1969 profile image

No I don’t like Drs either, I feel I’m wasting their time.

That’s what I’m like now, all congested, I sound nasally and cough when I laugh. Funny thing is when smoking, I never got colds or infections and never suffered with congestion. Dr said my lungs are congested but I think that’s the after effects of the fags, it’s just not cleared yet x

I coughed up alot after I stopped over 3 years ago and still do from time to time, cold weather, smog in the environment, high air conditioning buildings all affect me but always take it as a good sign my lungs are getting rid of the toxins.

Hey CLARAmay - maybe a trip to your local health food shop or pharmacy for herbal/vitamin supplements for the tiredness may help. Also, increase your water intake throughout the day :)

I need something to get rid of it all, I might try the steaming thing that you did, see how that goes.

I can’t believe I’ve got this far, I can remember my first day on here lol x

I replied to your post 'Tiredness' CLARAmay - on reading above, are you still on the patch? Could the tiredness be a side effect of your medication?

Hello! Day 51 for me! Just rolling out of bed to the snowstorm which Kathie was talking about (I'm in New Hampshire). Anyhow my day will involve shoveling, snowblowing and ending with watching the Patriots beat up on the Chiefs (hopefully!). Staying stubborn over her.😀 You all enjoy the day!
