Day 36 - comfortable with my quit

My fears still surface around getting through and then with each new day, I feel an acceptance with my feelings and how erratic they are! I’ve always been emotionally composed or so I thought! so then to become extremely anxious, feeling that every withdrawal symptom I self diagnose as cancer and the tears, they just keep coming! But it also feels good to feel! I pushed everything away with a cigarette. I feel as though I’m mourning a lot of my life! Even my marriage again, that ended 20 years ago!

On the up, even though anxiety is high I feel a calmness shining through, this feels good, my skin and teeth look amazing! I’ve lost the dull look which you get from 35 years! I love smelling! Everything! 😂😂😂 and I feel a sense of achievement!

This site has helped me immensely, reading peoples stories also shows me how ‘normal’ my symptoms are! So a big thank you to everyone who have shared their stories and to admin who encourage and support our quitting lives! 🙌👍👏👏👏😘😘😘

Thanks Hercu 💛 I’ve started a great emotional learning rediscovery, and I’m curious with my healing! You do get excited about it in between the meltdowns and eating! 😂😂😂 but well worth it! It must feel amazing at the 3 year mark! Congratulations on your anniversary 👍🙌👏💪👏👏

Welcome to our community AttaEryan - congratulations on day 3, that is great! Are you going cold turkey or using an aid to help you? If cold turkey, the nicotine will be out of your system by the end today an then the mental battle starts - have a read of below pinned post of common withdrawal symptoms worth a read if not already done so:

A huge congratulations Frost..!!! No matter how much we tell you you’re doing ace, you now know it yourself.

Funny isn’t it, those crisis’s, bad days, alcoholic weekends and boredom we thought we couldn’t get through without a cigarette, we now know we can, it’s quite liberating don’t you think.

We now have something a never smoker has, complete self achievement that we didn’t think we had and they take for granted, win win 💪💪💪💪💪💪
