Hi, I am six days without a cigarette. If I had some in the house now I would have one. This is tough but I need to do it!

Keep going Eviepoo, you are doing brilliantly. Giving up is tough to begin with but it will get easier and you know this is the right thing to do for all the right reasons. Hang in there, you've totally got this.

I've found it helpful to focus only on the positives - being healthier, a bit richer, better smelling, easier breathing, no ashtray breath and whiter teeth... to name but a few tangible benefits. Also, having the support of all the people on this site has been a huge lift to me, knowing that there are people like us who have made the best commitment of their lives rooting 100% for our success.

I found an app that tracks progress and reinforces success and it really has helped quantify how far I've come. I use 'EasyQuit stop smoking' and it has provided an excellent distraction during times of weakness and craving.

Well done for coming this far. 6 days becomes 7 becomes 14 becomes 1 month before you know it. Keep going - you've got this and we've got your back👍

Huge welcome to our community Eviepoo , congratulations on 6 days smoke free and almost at your first massive milestone of 1 week, that is great!

I stopped cold turkey almost 3 years ago and it has been one of my best achievements of my life so far. It is a roller coaster of a journey but so worth it to be the healthiest and happiest I have been since I was a teenager :)

Have a read of the pinned posts and stay close to us especially if struggling. We look forward to reading your progress....

Congrats Evie. In the early going, one of the keys is to keep them out of your house and away from your person.
