Well if your familiar with my story , quit smoking after getting ill with pneumonia back in August , was advised to stop smoking and did just that ..was a scary time being ill with a lung infection like that ..so quit cold turkey 18/ or 19th August I think the last cigarette I had ..

found it quite easy As was recovering from being ill ...

I myself have offered support for new quitters ...

I don’t know what’s going on now , habit cravings are pretty damn strong Again , picking up the back door key to go outside ...which is what I done to go fir a smoke ..happening again a few times a day ..

even had a dream last night lol Found some tobacco in the house and rolled a cig .. funny thing was though , I never lit it and put it in my pocket ...

Also noticed , this tingling sensation going on at my finger tips .. been going on for a few weeks now ...

that feeling when you knock your funny bone and the feeling that goes down your arm into your hands ... it’s that feeling ... and it’s not going ...

read , it’s the blood carrying more oxygen to finger tips Whereas before lacked when smoking ...sounds logical but how true i don’t know ... but smoking for over 25 yrs then suddenly stopping .....wow ...the body must be saying wtf is going !!!

lungs feel weird again as temperature drops ..weather that’s from getting pneumonia or not smoking .. My last follow up X-ray result is good and signed off ...

I can’t go back to smoking , not after what happened but strange that the habit crap is still lurking ...

would like to know if anyone else has had this tingling in there hands etc .. I guess I could go to docs but it’s not like there numb or anything , just the feeling of it if that makes sense 🙄

I’m staying strong , Just feels like a delayed reaction going on now ...

Good to hear from you Rjg45 and well done on attacking this journey with all you have, what you are experiencing at the moment is perfectly normal as you approach the final stage of the 'Icky Threes' - below is a link to a pinned post explaining it more and worth a read. It will pass and will be stronger to move forward to your half a year milestone - it will be a lot easier but need to on your guard at all times

Oops apologies Rjg45 - please ignore what I said about the champix, got mixed up with another members response, I have removed that bit of the post!

I've done 12 weeks today :) and I'm the same as you - weird cravings and awful tingling/pins and needles in my hands!! My breathing is still very much up and down - I've never actually felt worse 😂😂😂 but I know it's going to shift soon right??!!

Well done though and keep it up! X

Well at least we know these tingling feelings in hands , fingers is down to stopping ...

As said , with reading up on it , it does sound logical with blood getting more oxygen with no more nicotine...

it’s weird , yes I hope it does get better ...I’m sure it will , but if you’ve smoked for x x x amount of years then suddenly stopping , there’s going to be some upset to your body ...good upset though

My breathing is pretty good , few wierd feelings when it gets cold , feels like I’m getting an infection again , that sort of flu feeling , but it goes again , must be the same , body getting oxygen spoilt lol .. wife said I need to wear a vest 😂😂😂

Good luck to you and be strong ...

Hey Kacoates34 and Rjg45 - you both are pretty much at the same stage and experiencing the withdrawal, I promise it will get better and will not feel so crappy for much longer, the pins and needles will be your blood circulation pumping around clean fresh blood now, but as advised before if it gets worse or not improve, go to your doctor for a check up.

I found raw honey every morning and night a great help to assist in lifting the phlegm and clearing out the lungs and took it for the first 6 months of my quit, even 2 years on, if I feel I am getting chesty due to weather etc, take some and it settles it down - below is a pinned post of estimate timescales worth a read if not already done so, you both are doing great, keep us posted :)
