Hello Michelle, well done on two days and welcome to the forum! I didn't get the symptoms you describe (mine were all psychological) but plenty do.

Emmacamcri posted a similar one the other day if you would like to read the responses to that?

This website mentions chest tightness as a common problem quitsmokingsupport.com/with...

It does get easier, honestly! The first few weeks are very hard but it's worth persevering. Hope we can help you out.

Hello Michelle and welcome. Well done on making it to day 2 of not smoking.

I think the tight chest is one of the signs if withdrawl and is fairly common. Not sure what you can do to ease it. I think it may be a waiting game.

Don't give in. Keep going despite how you feel.

I didn't have that though I was congested. If you search this site for 'tight chest' there are dozens of older posts so it seems normal. Our bodies react in different ways.

Got ya. I just wish it would go away cause so far this is the worst part of not smoking.

Michelled...Welcome and sorry to hear you are suffering with a tight chest....Well at a stage in my quit I had the same tight feeling and thought it was anxiety... It could have been and up to today never experienced it again... It is a strange journey !!

Well yall. I am happy to say today as of now my chest isnt hurting. I must say though i took my patch off yesterday and forgot to put another one on, i was craving a cig so badly last night at work and this morning i woke angry to take my kids to school. Then i realised i didnt repatch. So i dont think i am able to be 100% nicotine free yet. But not having to have a cig in my hand for three days now is an awesome feeling. And may i add my teeth are feeling fantastic!!
