Stopped smoking, last fag at 11.30pm last night. Woke up this morning feeling as if life as I knew it was to end! Have dragged myself through the day, (what a long long day). Decided to join this forum to chat, share thoughts, possible rants! I need to do this, I want to do this so badly!

Hi Timmytim :)

Well done on taking those first steps - yep, day one sucks, but it does get better very quickly, I promise!

Joining the forum was a good move, too. There's so much wisdom here, I found it really helpful to just read past posts and find out I wasn't alone - everything you're going through is beatable and there's proof here in the people who have been through it and written about it before.

My best advice would be - keep reasonably busy, but also allow yourself lots of time to shut yourself away with a book/in the bath/some other comforting and relaxing thing. AND CELEBRATE! Today you've already NOT smoked so many fags - and that's great! You're already winning. And again, I promise, it will get easier!

Best wishes x

Go timmytim! So glad to hear you're staying positive - that really does help. I tried to enjoy the fact that every craving I felt meant I hadn't given in, if that makes sense?

You can do this x
