31 was probably the worst day..... Had a big fight and then another one on top of it and then went to the store bough a pack of cig and then returned it back got my money and left....

THe guy at the store thought I was weirdo ...for sure

I managed not to smoke but ladies and gents sometimes is really bad....

Does it get better ? If yes when ans how?

I need to get my motivation more...

I think this forum does help but at the same time does not help because we constantly remind yourself that we smoke and other experiences... sometime bad one that are discouraging to us....

Well done in returning the cigarettes instead of smoking the all package. It is very hard to stop smoking, you know that very well but you also know very well that you can do it. 2 weeks ago, I told you I can't go past week 7/8 and the reason is what you describe on your post today. We will have fights, problems, we will get sick, have too much work, have a lazy partner at home or a stupid boss whether we are smokers or non smokers. Stop smoking doesn't make the problems go away therefore we have to find a way to deal with the situations instead of smoking....that's how you stay quit. Let's think for example, I remember situations in the past, not many thankfully, where I wish I could kill that person, but I didn't, I smoked a cigarette instead and walked away. Now on the. Same situation you'll have just walk away and do not light up, once you do it first and second time, it starts getting easier because it becomes part of you. I am so sorry to see you going through that suffering, pls stay with us, it will help you, I would hope. Stay well.

groushas......you are really fighting this one and it is good.... I very early confessed to be a nicotine junkie....but also understood and excepted the chemical war in my brain and need to make a decision to flight or to fight....I took the latter..I fought it with all my will power and gained as much knowledge I could get.

I learned that nicotine has got a Zero IQ and with my superior intelligence I could win this addiction......if I used it to the full

Always remember a diamond was merely a piece of coal which did very well under pressure.....;)

So believe that with all the pressure now you will become that spotless Diamond !!!!!

Thank you Mmaya...

Smoking has been our constant companion through thick and thin for a while Groushas and what you experienced yesterday is all part of the addicton that we're trying so hard to fight. In the past we've used any excuse to light up whether in good times or bad. In stressful situations the first thing we reach out for is a cigarette, we've been doing it for years and it's all part of the hold over us that nicotine is doing its best to cling on to. Just be on your guard at all times.

We've managed 32 days without smoking so we know we can do without and we know we don't want to belong to that dying breed anymore that call themselves smokers. It's true, more and more people are giving up the habit and the number of present day smokers is falling day by day. Perhaps they're all realising like us that smoking is a losers game - the only winner is the tax man!

I'm determined to stick to my quit but I've accepted that there will be challenges along the way. When I can deal with unexpected petty dramas and slightly stressful situations without thinking I need to smoke I think I'll be able to call myself a successful non smoker.

We're doing fine though and we're winning ;) so let's keep going.

....and that surely summarises it all, congratulations to both, you're really an inspiration for me!

You know Mmaya (and this sounds morbid) but I was thinking to myself that my future is going to be shorter than my past and that I've wasted so much of my past on smoking - making sure I always had cigarettes, promising that I would stop but never actually doing anything about it apart from a few half hearted failed attempts. Now that I've finally realised that smoking has been a totally destructive habit and an utter waste of time and money (and probably a lot of money) I'm just riding this quit out til the bitter end - and hoping I'll forget about it as soon as possible.

...exactly what I've been saying here, I've failed so many times that it's embarrassing, but it has it's perks, I'm one step ahead of niko. This time I'll beat him! Xxx right behind you linda, right behind you!
