Hello Grousas.

I'm also at the 2 week stage and like you I can see the health benefits already.

I am getting used to the idea of not smoking and I deep down know that I'm far better off without it - I don't have to rely on smoking for my life to be normal.

There will be times for a while yet when we'll be tempted but it's not worth thinking about so just be on your guard. Think about how well you've done to get this far, look at the money you're saving and how your health has improved. You can do everything you did before you gave up smoking so you've lost absolutely nothing. There will be times, either social or when things are a bit stressful, when you'll want to reach out for a cigarette but you know it's not a magic fix and it really won't make anything any better.

These are the things I'm trying to focus on and my plan is to carry on until smoking or even thinking about it is a thing of the past - however long it takes this time.

It's a bit of an up hill battle at times but just think of the positives of not smoking and it will get easier as time goes on. Just remember that you haven't lost anything by quitting and you've so much to gain, especially your freedom.:)

ps The hard part (for me at least) is trying to accept and get my head round the fact that I actually won't smoke anymore even though I'm so glad I've got this far. I'm determined not to give in and let myself down again though.

That's because in your mind you are looking at it as a loss, something you can't allow yourself to do...it's a state of mind, when you start looking at it something that you can do but don't want to do, that's when you will be a non smoker

Thanks linda and mmaya on your comments.

I think of the nicodemon as the Gollum/Sméagol from lord of the rings

View this link and remember it as Nicodemon .... it helps

Day 15th how is it today?

Tips new tips?

What should we expect week 3 and or 4th?

Love the link groushas and it depicts the nicodemon perfectly - I will remember it when the going gets tough.

Hope you're having a good day.:)

ur welcome

It's all abt setting your priorities right at this stage. You can smoke. Just go buy a pack and smoke away. Nothing stops you. But for the record, I did it and end up in a very serious depression, the failure got to me in a way that I can't describe. If you want to stop smoking, stay strong and do it, don't allow yourself to go back, some people may take it very easy. I was extremely defeated and depressed and don't wish those feelings to my worst enemy. Everytime you think about having one, picture yourself going back to day 1 just like me!!! No. You can do this, stay strong :)
