another pro to this quitting malarkey is saying 'no, I quit smoking over a month ago' to the doctor at a routine visit and having the confidence to believe in it!
gosh that felt good! my doc has been badgering me due to my asthma for quite some time now and quite rightly so too! I can also confirm that the strength of inhaler and use of it has reduced some too!
yes I do feel a tad smug right now lol

I remember attending a routine dentist appt approximately 6 weeks after I quit and the dentist casually remarking tnat I had a 'warning' flag on my record because I was a smoker. I took such pleasure in tellling him he could remove said flag (and stick it where the sun don't shine :)).
I go all the way downstairs and roll out my mat and put on a dvd! lol
I haven't done it in a few days though, I need to up my game so that one day I can get my legs behind my head  and maybe, MAYBE touch my toes without this sound......eeuuurgheethehaaaeeee aaaaaaaahhhhhh

I have an apt next week. my bleeding gums are absolutely horrendous and sometimes painful so im hoping im not gonna be a gummy non smoker but I do remember the glare the dentist gave me 2 weeks into my quit when I said I had quit (he noticed my teeth were whiter). it was almost a 'oh really? well see how long that lasts my dear' glare. I will dedicate my quit to him for being such a pompous a** lol
Great post Tigger, seeing the Doc and saying that,oh so good...What I loved when I quit-still do love :D- going to the supermarket seeing the stocked shelves full of quit smoking aids and thinking " Done that " which always gave me a huge sense of pride
Also seeing quit smoking Ads on TV,same effect.I always felt, sick in the stomach when I smoked and saw things like that, always made me think " I need to quit soon but when "
That advert with the woman on the couch and the baby in its bouncy chair with the smoke going up his little nose got me! and I vaguely remember a man reading to his daughter thinking I wish this would hurry up so I can have a smoke.... made me cry. im so ashamed of the amount of times ive said two seconds kids before we play this game or do this or that to smoke:mad:
got there in the end though! we are most definitely not giving up anything, just gaining!
haha! I might do it while wearing my wonder woman pants but im not sure my daughter will appreciate the view while im in the downward dog pose when shes trying to eat her cheerios:rolleyes:
ashtanga is for the more physically fit I believe and quite er demanding?! quite intense! Im doing vinyasa (that name came from the back of my dvd lol) its quite flowy i like it!
It does feel wonderful now to tell the world we don't smoke. If you were here I would give you a big high five!! So just imagine a virtual one coming your way.
