A little boost for those unsure if they want to be a non smoker

Hey everyone. I wanted to leave a message for those starting the journey or those just seeing if its something they want to try, this giving up thing.

I gave up for the last time (after trying i swear 30 times) 10 months ago. It was HARD i wont lie. I felt anxious for about 4 weeks solid (but im an anxious person anyways). But i knew this would happen so i was prepared to put up with it for as long as it took. I wanted it so badly i told myself 'no matter what' and that was my slogan in my head. Anyways, anxiety stopped and i was happy non smoker.

I went though abit of a crappy patch in may and started using an ecig in June (if an ecig was not available i would NOT have smoked i proberly would have turned to the bottle...i wanna make that clear) very quickly become hooked on that as you would expect and decided on my holiday (last week) that when i got home it was time to go nicotine free again! I kid you not nothing feels as good as being a 100% nicotine free, no smoker. You just feel so good all the time. So ive cold tukey'ed it again, just completing day 3 now. anxious as hell again, telling myself no matter what, again.

I wanted to share this because those who are scared or unsure, realize that if it was that bad then no one would be smoke free at the one year mark, and i wouldnt put myself through cold turkey twice in one quit if i didnt KNOW how much better you feel if you just stick with it and see it through.

Yes its ugly, yes its horrible, yes you cant sleep for the first 3 days and yes you will gain a little weight.

But yes you will feel better, yes you will look better and yes you will feel healthier and notice that extra cash! you will also have higher self esteem knowing you respect your body now.

Great post Nikki.

I have to say I thought about getting e-cig a couple of times when feeling really down. I only didn't do it because it probably "wouldn't be the same", leading to regular fags eventually. So it sucks, after all eh? Good to know.

Glad to hear you decided to cut that one lose. I bet it'll be much easier than your initial quit!
