This week sees me free of ciggies for a whole year and a half, am in absolute awe of myself never ever thought i could do it, but here i am, richer, fitter and much much happier!
Put on a stone and now have lost that stone and a little bit more, have a new hobby (Zumba) and can now run
Biggest test of all is a holiday in Portugal next month, but I know really that I won't cave, too far down the line to allow that to happen

Angela well done :D I am just 6 days ahead of you so as long as we both stay strong long determined and proud, then this will be the big one
Portugal will be a piece of cake-but-do minimise temptation especially after a few shandies, because Nicdemon is always waiting for a chance to nip in there. You have done too well now to stumble!!!!! I will be watching you!!! x
Max, I didn't see a post from you at that mammoth hill climb of 18months.
It's so lovely to have the pleasure of sharing this post,
You have this in the bag, sooooo very very pleased for you🌼🌼🌼
I,m sure there has been many tricky situations to deal with along the way, but you have come through, like a shining star.
Massive congratulations from me
thank you so much, it really does get easier the further down the line you get x

Thanks Jenny. This time last i was where you are now, am sure you will be in this position next year, 6 months is too far down the line to go back on, i kept telling myself that with every week that passed. You will do it and well done on a massive 6 months x
I always enjoy reading post-Penthouse posts as it is both lovely and important to know that there's something beyond the finish-line as it were.
Well done indeed, Hellerscatch! I hope you have a wonderful holiday (I am sure you will). If any rogue cravings try to sneak in, just jump into the sea. You can't smoke there even if you want to.
Congratulations, what a great achievement. I'm a year behind you but I already have that relief of not having to smoke. It's fantastic reading posts like yours as the joy of not smoking is so evident. Thanks
Why on earth would we go back??? but Max is right........ shields up
Enjoy the holiday it's probably free anyway with all the money you've saved.
A year and a half - FAN FLIPPIN TASTIC!!!!!:D:D I bet if you stop and look back to the person who joined this forum, starting out on what felt like an insurmountable journey, you hardly recognise her now. Here you are, 18 months free from slavery to smoking, with a new addiction to fitness and exercise, walking the walk, loving life and looking damn good to boot!
I've followed your tail lights to freedom from fags, here's hoping I can do the same on the weight/fitness front once I get this op out of the way. Keep on blazing that trail hon, I'll be right behind you! xxx
Ah thank you lovely lady, am so happy you have a date for you op, things can only get better Also, you are only a month behind me in the quit, so me thinks we are both pretty awesome keep me posted about your op, lots of love x x x
Well done on your 18 month unbelievable achievement that is...I look at you in awe what an inspiration to us all :D xxx
Thank you very much, I never ever believed I could ever get this far, but let me tell you, it is soòo worth it, I love being free of the demon. Am also quite sure that next years new quitters will be in awe of you x x x
I've just posted for Day 22 and feel like a kid looking up at this awesome mountain of a person who has achieved, literally, great heights. Well done, 18 months is completely amazing and inspirational for us newbies. And because you have trodden the path, I know I can too, if I want to.
Enjoy your hols (and bring some sun back please! )!
Yayyyyyy, well done Nice to hear you're running too (I'm not!!)
So happy for you, we quit on the same day & I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done.
Denise x
Thanks Denise, who would have thought we would be this far down the line, massive well done to you too x
This is brilliant:
IF I HAVE JUST ONE CIGARETTE, I'LL BE BACK WHERE I STARTED...
WHERE I STARTED WAS DESPERATELY WISHING I WAS WHERE I AM TODAY.
I might have to steal it if you don't mind. It really sums up how I feel.
Denise's quote it spot on isn't it x
How inspirational HC.

Very well done Angela, the time matters less than being in that contented place you are now in;)
Congratulations, can tell there's no going back for you now
It really doesn't seem to be an option Netti, I am still in shock at how long I smoked for and if I am honest, never really ever tried to quit before
