Don't let that idealistic summer cig fool you!

If you are in the 6 month forum, that means you started your quit when the weather was terrible, early dark evenings and cold. So the thought of a cigarette in the freezing cold wasn't too appealing

But now weather is nice and we are moving into summer. Summer will be the final trigger and need to face and beat. Don't let the idyllic idea of a sitting in a beer garden in warm weather with a cig fool you. It is still a nasty poisonous piece of filth and before you know it summer is over but your habit has started again

Keep strong and there is no such thing as an idyllic cigarette! The two words don't go together....

OH took me out for a meal yesterday evening and I must admit I had one brief moment when we were sitting outside the restaurant by the river with our drinks before eating especially as everyone at the adjacent table was smoking. It didn't last for more than a nano-second though and I don't think I shall ever get over the novelty of not having to slip out for a fag after the main course and again before the coffee comes. Such a good feeling :)

But you're right Woody- a very timely reminder.

Wise words Woodymeister wise indeed

I can sit outside a pub in the sun now and not think of smoking even once :D and that is a truly amazing thing,so vice-like was smoking's grip for so many long foolish years.

Dead right there Max - so easy to look at 'the beautiful people' - tanned twentysomethings - laughing and smoking outside a bar on a hot summer evening, and feel the odd pang. But the only pang I feel is pity when I look at them. Beauty really is skin deep and the truth is that these people are rotting their bodies from the inside - won't look quite so glam in twenty years with grey skin and wrinkles:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You will again, Karri, and enjoy it just as much as you did before (if not more because you won't be feeling furtive because you smoke and the people on the next table don't, and are shooting filthy looks in your direction :)). Give it time, give it time....

Yes, Max, Win, Skiddaw.... Karri.. its' the conditioning.

I thought I LOVE washing my car, until I realize I was really taking the car washing occasion to sneak a few. Now that I've started this journey... hmmm..... I need to wash my car !! Just lazy, and kinda worried it triggers, but mostly lazy. :D

Probably go to a car wash instead of hand wash.

Nicotine's conditioning of my junkie brain, is unparalleled. Insidious. On guard.
