I thought I would 'touch base' just to say hi to newbies and oldies alike.
I know how helpful it is to get posts from people who have quit for some time now (and I see myself in that bracket)
So I am running towards my seventh month, so how does it feel? well, I have no real urges anymore, I sometimes 'miss them' (I Know ridiculous) but I see myself as an ex-smoker and not a non-smoker.
I live with a smoker-a heavy smoker, he smokes in the kitchen next to the open door-so I regularly get a 'whiff' but I hate it-I don't want it, I dont urge for it, I don't need it...it is a lovely place to be-I feel comfortable and happy and relaxed.
I am more confident, I smell great, I have saved £1650-and just booked a 3 week break to Croatia-cash with my savings.
So....you maybe on day one, or month two...but you will soon be here-in my world, a non smoking happy world (and believe you me I was a 20 a day loved to smoke woman) but now I am richer, smell great, feel free-IT IS WORTH THE HASSLE-STAY STRONG XXXX

Hello Helene, I choose Croatia, because I have never been, and I like to dive ...heard the Istrian riviera is beautiful, for sailing and diving..hence the choice xx
Yes Debbieh..I had already won the 'head battle' before I started the fight for freedom-I hated smoking the last few months before my cessation, and thats' the key:o...I cannot wait for you to be there....
Brilliant post thanks for taking the time to share your story :D xx
I wanted to, because your quits are becoming just as important-I hate the fact that this addictive drug has slowly been killing us all this time-keep it up-it is so worth it x
Good work. Especially sharing a house with a smoker. I still miss them (well not so much fags themselves but the ritual involved with smoking them) occasionally, but no urge to have one again, that's for sure.
Double respect, CT and living with a smoker! I found the stench coming off my OH quite nauseating, how much of that was down to champix I don't know as I'm sure I would have caved if I'd have gone CT - Well done that woman
Congratulations on your 7 months of smoke-free living, Can't wait to be where you are now. Thank you for posting this very positive post, it's just what I needed to read right now.

Enjoy Croatia.
You are welcome Susan, I just want to spread the word and give people alittle insight what its' like to get this far, I can remember feeling 'loss' and thinking I will never feel the 'same' again...but I actually feel happier, more relaxed and more 'me' (if that makes sense) xxx
Another fantastic post Sweet, it's great isn't it to reach the point where smoking no longer appeals...the fact you did it CT and with a smoker in your midst  still impresses the hell out of me
