Day 51 *fingers in my ears*

Hiya

Might be my odd definitions time but well today I've not had that many what I call craves YAY but I have faced the wants.

I mean sort of pangs, think it's partly because it's sunny and I used to like going out in the sunshine for a smoke, so it's still facing them down, (although a coffee in the sun is nicer, doesn't stink and won't kill me) and because Nic has worked out brute force isn't working so he's trying something else - and if I'd let it, that would play on my mind.

But I'm not, so it isn't having anything like the effect it would if I allowed it to take root.

OK Nic, I used to smoke and for a lot of that time yes, I enjoyed it but those days are long, long gone now and I'm zapping you by remembering how miserable smoking made me by the end!! So no, I won't have "just one" in the sunshine. Bog off, there's a love!!

Well, I am totally jalous: you have sun.

It is starting snowing here, a snowstorm and we expect about 8inches to a foot of snow.

So you have finger over your ear, I have my finger over my eyes in denial: I don't want to see more snow.

Oooh it's rare here believe me!! We've had nothing but grey, gloomyness, wind and rain for months :eek: or it feels like it anyway!!

Am a bit jealous of you getting snow 'cos it looks pretty but know it's a proper pain when you've got things to be doing!!

Oh gema-Lou, it's like old boy friends, they look and smell great at first , and then, later down the line, you see them naked, and you just have to get rid, nasty.

He does now, and it's fab!!

I had a trigger earlier, and did get quite a pang *not* a crave, 'cos it wasn't nearly that strong but I thought about why I'd quit, and it got lots weaker.

Can remember not all that long before I quit I smoked a couple of fags and got into the car, had my hair down so sprayed it with perfume and flicked it to see if it smelled. It was *minging* and I really raged at myself 'cos I'm too vain for that. The feeling of being trapped was horrible

OK at the mo I might get the odd pang for a smoke, but I have gained so much more self confidence, and I'm a lot happier!!

(I mean, 13 quid for something *that* small? I used to buy acid tabs larger than stage 3's...and for less dough!)

So I'm now FREE from nicotine. I have felt literally NO difference. I guess that's abnormal?!

If you need a hand, gimme a shout. Else, just carry on being strong honey. You're inspiring a whole new generation.

Um, I guess because they're so tiny (lol and naughty :p) they don't actually do much? Whatever works though is great!!

Am keeping on the step 1's for a bit, simply because I've been rather shaky :eek: and I want to make sure my head's got properly settled into being a non-smoker before I drop down - this is going to be my last quit ever, so I'm nurturing it

Well done you. You sound so determined. It is tough in the sunshine, it was a sunny pub garden that did for my last quit. I think you are taking the best course, realize the 'pangs' for what they are and move on. In my opinion being able to rationalize these feelings is a sure sign of a permanent quit.

I am determined, the smoking bit of my life is over, and it has to stay that way.

The pangs are a pain, because the demon knows exactly which buttons to push to make me start wanting a fag - but that will only work if I let him

Have to be honest, I did fancy a fag a couple of times yesterday but when I actually thought about smoking and what it really is it's a lot easier to bat away
