I'm standing in the corner with my red face and sad excuses for falling fowl of 'no will power'
However on a positive note I am back on day 3 now don't know why I slipped, didn't enjoy it and felt very disappointed with myself couldn't even come back here without a couple of days under my belt I felt soooo bad,
My husband ( who doesn't smoke) has been surprisingly so supportive and said forget about the couple of evenings you smoked and remember the 6 days you didn't .
Must add that I smoked on two evenings, not during the day and that both times alcohol was involved!!!
I'm sooooo determined now and no alcohol for me for a while !!!
Thanks for listening

You aren't the first, Patty, and you won't be the last.
Well done for putting it behind you and carrying on, and for getting a further 3 smoke-free days under you belt. That takes great determination as I am sure if I had blipped at that stage I would have been back to 20+ per day within minutes.
Probably best to avoid the Demon Drink for a time. It really does tend to be a trigger point for many of us.

Aww don't beat yourself up about it Patty 'cos you're back and on day 3
Lots of people just slip away, or smoke for months (like I did :mad but you hopped back on the wagon right away!!
And you've learned your trigger - the booze - so you can avoid that for a bit!!
Um, what I did to get used to drinking without smoking was to drink at home (with no fags about and 2 anti smoking parents) and it definitely helped, so maybe that would work for you? Stick some PJ's on you wouldn't be seen out in and ask your husband (who sounds fab) to help
If you read my day 1 posts from yesterday you will see that I was in the same position as you and that was also down to alcohol so I am strictly off it for the forseeable future. I was worried about having a drink at the weekend and that worry should have been enought to make me aware that I was not ready. If I feel like that again in the future I simply will order a diet coke
Coming into day 5 and feeling really positive !!! Bit worried about day 6 ( that's when I slipped last week ) so will be glad when that's over, fortunately got no company or outings planned this weekend, is I won't have an excuse lol.
I can't thank you all enough for your encouraging posts, they really mean alot:)
And just for the record ,if anyone is contemplating just having the one !!! DONT it is just sooooo not worth it, I didn't even enjoy it and could have screamed afterwards, keep strong
Hi patty, glad you are feeling so positive, that will definitely help you through the early weeks, try not to worry about day 6, you aren't going to fail because your mindset is strong, you will breeze through day 6 and be posting that you have made a week very very soon xxx
