Yesterday afternoon I delivered a community talk at a local hospital. I was a bit early and as it was a beautiful afternoon- really sunny and mild- I sat on a bench for 15 minutes before I went in just enjoying the sunshine and the birds singing.
Later, when I was heading home, it occurred to me that the 'old' me would have seen that as a golden opportunity to smoke a fag (or probably two :o) before entering the hospital. As it was, smoking never even crossed my mind :). What a lovely feeling!
