What I've bought so far.

Money has been a bit tight over the last year which is one of the many reasons for my quit.

(I did switch to super kings from king size first and nip them half way so I could still smoke 20 a day first though, I was quite dedicated to my addiction):(

Anyway I digress, I usually bought 3-4 packets a week which means I have £25 a week to spend on myself or our new house.

So what have I bought?

Week 1 : A pair of boots and pyjamas, don't you love January sales.

Week 2: Lush shampoo, soap and scrub.... ridiculously expensive but gorgeous

Week 3: 3 lampshades and a bedside cabinet

Week 4: 2 light fittings for living room and dining room.

Week 5: Gas hob and oven to go into the new kitchen that I haven't got yet.

Week 6: Electric towel radiator for new bathroom that OH is fitting next week.

Week 3-6 purchases on gumtree by the way. Not for you to think I'm spending more than I should:)

The best thing..... all this stuff is FREE. I no longer have bare bulbs in every room because I quit smoking. How cool is that. Even better next week I'm going to have warm towels to wrap round me when I come out of the shower:) Some tough days but OMG sooo worth it.

Oh well done you! I love shopping on gumtree and anywhere else I can find a bargain :D

I was saving my £300 for something nice but ended up paying the cardiology bill for 2 of my breeding cats with it lol :). Still I am planning a treat later in the year. I fancy a nice city break somewhere :)

:D:D:D

That is brilliant post to be reading

and dont forget your saving more then a price of a pack of ciggies as if your anything like me when i used to go into the shop i would stand in the queue and think i fancy a pack of crisps or a bar of choccy or both  and then would buy lottery cards and scratch cards too im not into magazines so never really looked at them

i used to treat my grandsons alot more and also myself on one of my biggest passions

crystal gemstones i have quite a biggish collection of different ones and since starting to make jewellery with them too it has gotton abit out of hand

but at least its still better then spending the money on white sticks that make me stink and used to rule my life :D

I smoked rolling tobacco and it cost me about £8 a week to smoke, so there wasn't much saved financially; I used to say that Sky Sports (at £32 or so a month) was free :D

My Dad smokes still, I was with him a month or two back, he bought four packs of tailor-mades, it was about £40, I couldn't believe it. My missus would have throttled me if I'd done that!!

Oh wow what a load of free stuff - how fab is that?

It's so nice to see all that stuff that you can enjoy and keep rather than blowing it on death sticks :D

I used to think nothing of going to the Co Op and buying a double pack - was £16.50 a time.

It's stupidly expensive!!

@Lindy, yeah I love a bargain and it's nice not to feel guilty about spending £20 when you see something you like. I've got £45 unspent at the moment and have spotted a spa day on groupon so that might be my next purchase. I actually hate shopping in shops but love shopping on line, especially gumtree. A city break is a great idea.

@ Carol crystal gemstones? Are they big or small? Where do you buy them? I don't collect things myself but find other peoples' collections fascinating.

@ Gemma: I walk round the house giggling going that's free and that's free.

Ok now I sound like a deranged shoplifter!:)
