I appear to be on my 14th day of not smoking. Apart from some side effects I've got to say that it's been a breeze and I really wish I had done it sooner. Still, I can't change that now.
Seeing as I used to get seriously out of breath just walking up 2-3 flights of stairs I thought I would give some exercise a go. Bear in mind that I haven't done any serious exercise for over 18months (I used to cycle but that stopped when I had some chronic pain due to an IUD which was fitted incorrectly - lost my confidence after that) and I could barely run for a bus when I was smoking.
I just did a 10 minute (I'm starting small and achievable until my fitness and confidence go up) continuous jog with intermittent star jumps, and crunches afterwards and I wasn't even out of breath AT ALL Very pleased! I couldn't have done this 2 weeks ago so if anyone reading this is thinking of quitting - DO IT! You'll notice the difference sooner than you think
