So me n the other half are coming home on the bus after doing abit of shopping, n some kid chipped out hes fag just before he come on......

OH MY GOD he stunk!

I new chip outs smelled but wow that was bad!

ive done what what kid done soo many times...

Cant believe I smelled like that! Yuck!!

It was my ashtray pouches that were the trigger for my quit - they made a lovely new bag I bought stink like hell!!

We never thought we smelled though, did we ? :S

I can remember sneaking off for a fag in one job I had years ago and being caught by the supervisor when I came back in, I was so indignant that he didn't believe me when I said I'd only been to the loo :mad: As Kat said I can now detect if the car in front of me at the traffic lights has a lit ciggie on board - but only if both our windows are open, I'm not that good lol

lol I was a 'secret smoker ' for about 3 years towards the end of my smoking career , omg joke of the century I think now, how did I possibly think I was a secret smoker the strength of the addiction takes away all logical thought

I used to sneak out for a 'walk' with my sister when we were younger for a fag... and got away with it for soo many years thinging a drink of milk hid the smell.... yeah ok! N my nose is soooo sensative now..,, it smells EVERYTHING!

What amazes me is that i never got caught smoking by my non-smoker parents. OK I had a cover story if needed somebody's mum/sister/brother smokes, or being in the pub (yeah, that dates me :p) but never needed it. I confessed rather then being caught. :eek:

Used to drink coffee a lot though 'cos they smell similar on your breath and smoke menthols which don't stink as much.

Think it's an ex-smoker thing, we can detect it a mile off!!

Lol my mum n dad smoked... my mum was a very high smoker of cigs n backy n my dad smokes socially the pipe n fags... I told my dad when I was 16 n he flipped smelling my breath all the time ect... n now I wonder why he didnt smell it lol x

My dad smoked the odd cigar years ago, then stopped when he met my mum - wasn't ever hooked so he thinks stopping is dead easy :/

I left it a bit longer before confessing, but even then it went down like a cup of cold sick :eek::eek:

Weird 'cos I was allowed to drink from very young but smoking was always a no-no, possibly why I wanted to?

I guess your parents didn't smell it 'cos they smoked - you get used to it!! x

Possibly.. I was allowed to drink quite young, 14 when I started smoking... was really easy to get fags as there was always lots of packs of fags n backy laying around... when I was about 15 I got served in shops n always had pocket money n dinner money x

Lol, we had to go to the next town or to Plymouth to get fags :eek: Or get one of my friends to get them - partly why I only social smoked from 13 until I was old enough

If I'd tried to buy them under age in my town my mum would have found out straight off :eek: Heck I was still getting IDed up to last year x

Oh no! Things u do to get fags! My shop was up the road n as long as he got money he didnt care... although last year I got IDed for a pack of rizzla... so bought it online after lol

Yeah it's ridiculous!!

Going round enough shops to get served, then get enough to last, daft!!

And when I had my driving licence redone, had to stock up then just in case I didn't get served - seemed so clever back then and so ridiculous now.

Could have spent all that money on something a lot more worthwhile!!

Ooh talking of which in the 9 months since I quit, have saved: £2,188 :eek:

Now, now, Miss G-L, that's not strictly true is it? What she means to say folks is that the £2,188 she would have spent on fags has been spent on wine, pink things and new clothes :p

The money is higher too 'cos I put 20 in the app and I was smoking a bit more than that most days :eek:

It's a lovely chunk of money to save, all for not doing something harmful!!

Was smoking Marlboro lights, definitely not cheap but i do have expensive tastes
