Hi All... (and one week)

Hi Everyone,

I've been running into the posts on this board for quite a while now (during my many failed quit attempts), and I thought joining might help me with my quit.

I'm in my early 30s. Around three years ago, I managed to quit for a little more than two months, but I relapsed when an old friend came into town. Since then I've probably had four or five serious attempts at quitting, and countless haphazard tries.

Recently, I haven't been able to make it past 6 days, so I'm quite proud that I've now made it a week. I really think this is going to be the quit that sticks.

So, thanks in advance for any support you might offer, and I hope to be able to extend the same to you!

hi Emjay and welcome to the forum,

this forum is without doubt one of the most powerful things that will help your quit stick! There are so many people on here with such advice and support that I would still be a serial quitter rather than an ex-smoker!

WOW! one week is a great start, one of the big milestones!:D

you're sounding pretty positive as if this is definitely your time to smash the addiction and habit to pieces! After all you have already survived your first weekend smoke free, things will only get easier for you.

looking forward to reading your updates

just remember if you feel like your going to cave in come on here first and post there is normally someone around who will help you get through it as it will pass

onwards and upwards is the only way to go
