Two months ago yesterday at 6:30 I had my last cigarette. 27 years of having a cigarette in hand just stopped. I didn't think I would make it this long - I was hoping I would - but thought it was impossible. As it turns out, it is very difficult but not impossible. I don't feel like a nonsmoker yet and still fight the daily cravings but I am still optimistic these cravings will go away. I was getting frustrated the process of feeling good about not smoking is taking so long compared to others. I was a smoker for 27 years of my life - a nonsmoker the first 15. I have realized I am just learning how to live without what was such a big part of my life for so long. Baby steps....apparently that is how this process is going for me. I will get there - it's just taking me a bit longer.

Thank you Max for reminding me of the great things that are going on in my body from not smoking. You are right - I have no doubt my lungs are celebrating and my blood is moving along better then ever! Thanks Max for always being there when I need a pat on the back - I can feel it all the way over here!
Well done Melzee!!! That's brilliant!!! Welcome to month 3! Glass of nice old Pinot grigio to celebrate??

Cheers!!!!
It was pretty hot here today too! Summer has finally arrived!
Going to be 92 degrees and sunny today. Having a small pool party. My first one since I have qyuit smoking. Hopefully it won't be too hard. I realized I do not have any ash trays for my guests. My better half threw them all away.

Well done Melzee - i am just behind you on 52 days - had a massively hard Friday night (whilst drinking a plenty) and thought it would be easier but as Max puts it so well - we have all been smokers for so long...and we are healing ourselves - what a beautiful gift.
Take care
Danny
Pool party went great - it was such a hot day. Only a couple of people there smoked - so I was not surrounded by it. I can only think of a couple of times I thought of a cigarette - but did not find it to be a struggle at all. Very happy with the way things went. And I don't have a horrible hangover!!!!
