Well well, it's 6 months and 12 hours since i last had a cigarette.
Can't believe it, but here I am!!
Still get times when I'd like a fag, but most of the time that's easy to push away
Have got it into my skull at last that if i had "just one" I'd be on 20+ a day in no time, and that while the idea of it (to me) is nice sometimes the reality isn't so NOPE, not going there.
I'd like to thank everyone who's helped me, I would be a smoker again without you, no doubt about it, so you're lifesavers - literally if you think about it.
Anyway, my second longest quit since getting myself hooked and hopefully the last one I'll have to do
xxx
Ooh nearly forgot the stats
182 days fag free
3,649 ciggies not smoked (and the rest)
£1,459.60 saved!! Where did that go? lol
And am going to live 15 days, 4 hours and 5 mins longer!!

Six months is a massive milestone - it marked a real sea-change for me, the point at which I went from thinking that I'd always secretly want to be a smoker, to realising that I was properly free. Still had the odd off day after that point but hardly any of them, it really did become incalculably easier after the half-year mark. Hope it is like that for you too!
Also hope you're doing something nice to celebrate! I recommend cake
Well done Gemma, that is amazing! I know you have had a tough few weeks but you haven't given in and look where you are now! You are an inspiration, you truly are. You are also so supportive and kind to the rest of us on here so thank you for that.
Halfway to the penthouse!!!! Remember to keep me a room - I will be there in less than 45 weeks now!

Thanks Hels
That's really nice to know 'cos it has been a bit of a pain lately - probably because I've been going through the sunshine trigger, beach trigger and of course men :/
Am a bit behind too because of the flipping e-cig - but heck I'll get there
Ooh and cake is alway the right answer, I love it!!

Aww thanks Sarah!! That's really nice
The only time I've seriously nearly caved in months was because of *him* which would have been utterly self-defeating 'cos i never had a chance anyhow.
But it has got a lot easier already, craves have become fancying one - because I guess 16 years of "fags = nice" isn't going to vanish overnight!! Is odd, seeing someone smoke can make me have a pang, smelling it makes me want to heave
Really do hope I help people on here, have had so much support I want to give some back
Make sure you pick your decor, got to make it nice and homey!!
Massive congratulations Gemma-Lou, as others have said the six month milestone is significant. I have of course followed your story, your journey so far, the ups (many) and the downs (fewer...yay!) and you must surely be looking at the next six months full of confidence. You must know you can do this now, bloomin' well done you!

so, so, SO chuffed for you petal!!! I know that, thanks to that darn e-cig, you've basically been through TWO quits to get here which makes it all the more impressive! I think, therefore, that you are more than entitled to your own Mexican wave!
Huge congratulations to an absolute star whose contribution to this place is invaluable and whose friendship and support to this particular quitter is priceless - you've been such a massive help to me and I am truly grateful! So tonight, we need to raise a glass or two freesmileys.org/smileys/smi... done that woman, it's time to celebrate HALF A YEAR!!!!
YAY thanks Kat!! That's really lovely
You've been a fab friend to me too and you've definitely helped me
Excellent stuff Gemma, 6 months is awesome, you feel like a different person don't you? Why didn't we free ourselves earlier? Here's to a smooth ride down to the penthouse!!

That's what's so fab about this place
We help each other up and pull each other along!! Definitely wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the people on this board - would have caved in after a few weeks most likely, but I didn't
Really hope i do help other people too!!
Ooh and i had wine, choccie and bought a new phone so it's all good!!
What slightly scared me was that I was thinking hard about this phone 'cos it's pricey, then I divided the amount by 8 - the price of 20 Marlboro lights - and it's way less than 2 month's smoking so what's better? iPhone or what my mum called "those nasty sticks"?
Lol, you're dead right there though - I literally have no willpower (and was one of those smoekrs who was happy to smoke forever) so if i can stop everyone can!!
I knew you would make it, it's all downhill from here. Yay:):)
YAY thanks Jane!!
Have had some rough times lately, but came thought it without sparking up so if i can beat them I can probably stay fagless for the rest of my life :cool:
