I know everyones method of quitting is different but i have been using laughter and singing. I actually think i may be onto something. It started out as a bit of sillyness but actually seems to be working.
I physically do not let myself ponder cigarrettes and mope about, and force myself to get cheery and i made the weekend surrounded by smokers and slightly drunk!!!
I have been using right said fred too sexy for the office at work purely because i get to stand up and bust some ridiculous moves and it makes me laugh the most.
I found this song to be less successfull over the weekend and on saturday night surrounded by the smokers i opted for Elton John Tiny Dancer. A few hits on that bad boy and all thoughts of nicotine gone!!!!
Yesterday i was mainly working in the garden and opted for George Harrison Here Comes The Sun and hey presto i smiled my way through the day and didnt feel sorry for myself at all.
I know it sounds ridiculous but just imagine a world full of ex smokers that spontaneously burst into song, smile and then carry on with their day.
That is a world i want to live in!!!!!

Singing & laughing make sense since it is just another way of taking deep breaths. Deep breaths have long been said to take away cravings due to the dopamine they produce. If you're somewhere where you can't sing or laugh deep breaths may do the trick. Some people find that sucking air through a straw give the same affect.
Brilliant!!! And I think you should patent this new method of quitting 'Sing your way to freedom'
Don't suck on a cancer stick-just sing a song
You know the world would be a happier place. We could also branch out into other areas. Instead of rival gangs fighting they could sing west side story at each other ha ha.
I am a Police Officer Jarvis,I think next time I find myself at a pub fight or some griefy domestic argument where the kitchen plates are flying,I will plant my feet firmly on the floor in the middle of the room, and launch into my own special version of 'Loving you' by Minnie Riperton.
This should make everyone stop fighting and perhaps laugh instead.
I like it. That would be so surreal but brilliant. That would be a youtube smash.
Imagine during the riots that took place last year in our cities if the police in full riot gear marching on the mob in perfect harmonies singing the greatest love.
That has got to make even the most braindead thug stop and take notice. A tough task for the officers involved i imagine.
I dont have a video im afraid but this may make you laugh. A number of years ago me and some friends decided we were going to start a band. We thought we were brilliant and decided to get some photos taken in anticipation of when we were famous. They are brilliant. We looked all moody and angsty.
Yeah we did a mini demo of three songs. I have it on cd somewhere. We werent that great contrary to our opinion at the time. It was fun times though. We had such a laugh doing it and i think music will always be a pursuit although i now dont think i will be famous ha ha.
You can't tell us these things without posting the video/audio!!
Hmmm i will see if i can get something and maybe email it. I dont have the most technological mind so i may not be able to deliver but will do my best.
