officially on day 2 - woo hoooo

wow. i have had 3 real cigarettes since wednesday, my last being on friday evening so am officially on day 2 of no cigarettes.

the e cig is working for me and strangely i seem to have more cravings at times when i wouldnt normally smoke like the middle of the afternoon. weird. im using the e cig a lot less than i expected but as ive said from the outset how much i use it is not by priority at this time. i think i have cracked quite a few of my habits in the last week by changing my routine slightly which is a real good start - ie: lighting up at the same point on the motorway, lighting up when i pick up the phone, lighting up automatically the minute i get up on a saturday morning etc.

my taste is back and its grrrreeeeeeeeeeeat. each hour that i get through without a cigarette motivates me for the next hour and its far less scary than saying to my mind "thou shalt not smoke ever ever again".

only downside is that i am waking up at 5am and before. not the end of the world for me as i get up at 6am anyhow but just a little strange.

thankyou sooooo much to everyone on here for keeping me going....and going until the battle is won forever.....

Morning NS, how positive you sound today! If I was a betting girl, I would bet that pretty soon, without realising, you will have hit a day without even using your ecig. you just seem to have got 'that' attitude! :cool:

Don't think about "I'm never going to smoke another fag for the rest of my life" that's scary when you think you rely on them, just say "I choose not to have a fag today" and before you know it you won't even think about smoking one

your words of encouragement and praise go such a long way. interestingly, the most unsupportive people i have in my life are the couple that smoke themselves. everyone else is really supportive but don't really "get it" never have been through the battle themselves.

by the way, since when did betroot and smoked salmon taste so darn good?

That's pretty normal unfortunately.

Have been lucky in that the girls at work who smoke have been great and so have my smoker friends but I'm sure you remember that feeling when someone said they were quitting?

It's that uneasy, guilty feeling that if someone else is stopping you should too.
