Day 22

Hi all. Well here I am at day 22. Whew!!! Never thought I'd make it, but after 2days of the nicotine monsters unrelenting assaults, he seems to have retreated, although I suspect he's just gone to rearm. But he will not beat me cause I have my own lil army right here on these pages. Thanks for all the sport comrades couldn't have done it alone. Keep well everyone. Love Jonno.

Hi ash. Well first of all I try to tell myself that the googles are only an illusion, but they are very strong and unbelievably persistant, so I try to follow my zen masters teachings on meditation and simply breathe them away eg breathing in the cool country air I breathe in, smiling to the fresh country air I breath out. Being kind to my lungs I breathe in. Smiling to my lungs and thanking them for giving me life I breathe out. And so on. It seems to work for me so I persist until the little ....s go away. Of course at other times I just have to clench my teeth and silently scream silently until the little b.....s go away. It all boils down to do I really wanna quit smoking and the answer is a big YES !!! , and so far it works. Bless you all. Love .jonno. Also I've come to realise that by smoking I'm supporting the tobacco industry and causing others the pain and death that this addiction causes. So Namaste to all beings. namaste means that "the divine in me bows to the divine in you".

That's a very similar methodology to what I'm looking at as well - going down the mindfulness path myself - I may need to pester you when it gets a little harder, though :D

Well done Jonno. Not far off the one month mark now. So glad that you managed to takcle your way through a couple of tough days. Like you say, you may still continue to have these now and then but the more you fight the easier it becomes. :)

This is definately a mind over matter thing and once you have that sorted, you're well on your way! x
