Welcome SteffieLou, hope you find all the support you need here, you're over the first week so now it's just a case of sticking with it - simple eh:rolleyes:

Tell us about yourself - are you doing this CT or using quit aids?

Well done for getting to day 8, that's a fab start and I hope you're really pleased with yourself!!

It's fab that you've joined here too 'cos there are lots of people who are a great help - know they've carried me through some tough times.

How are you quitting? Cold turkey or using NRT?

Good luck, and please post here as often as you want even if it's just to rant or let off steam!!

Guess you could say I'm CT. I wasn't initially as I had a few puffs on an e-cig first thing in the morning & last thing at night for the first few days but I haven't touched it at all for the last 2 days & I've not been using any NT so I guess that qualifies me as nicotine free

I work as a duty manager in the regional ambulance control room which can be quite stressful, my husband is currently on an overseas deployment with the military which leaves me playing single parent for another couple of weeks so I kinda figured if I could give up now it should be a breeze to deal with cravings on a normal day, lol.

I've been quite lucky so far and haven't had any major cravings or thought about smoking much at all. I've even managed to be around smokers without it bothering me at all which seems great but I'm just hoping that doesn't mean I'll get to week 3 and be hit with cravings like a wet fish to the face

It's lovely to meet you all and I'm loving keeping up with everyone's progress.

Day 9 almost done and heading towards double figures, yayyyy

It's such a good feeling isn't it.

I'm using patches- so I'm always in awe of those who can go without anything at all!

I agree, if you can handle being on your own and in high stress environments without wanting to smoke you have pretty much cracked it!!
