Champix seems to help a lot. If I'm struggling somewhat to quit with Champix, I salute all the quitters out there who did it cold turkey!
I've heard that Champix is great. And I also salute those with the determination to get through it cold turkey! It is by far the best and easiest way in the long run. However, whichever way we choose isn't really important. The important thing is to stay away from those smelly cancer sticks!
Normally I commute on a bike to work and back, but used the car this morning due to heavy rains. When I got in the car this morning I could not miss the distinct smell of smoking in the car. It wreaks.
I also walked passed a colleague who just finished a smoke and that was even worse. One does not realise the awfull smell smoking leaves behind until you stop.

It's amazing how much it stinks, isn't it? Maybe you could treat your car to a valet with some of the money you save? I'm sure it'd be much nicer to drive if it didn't smell of old tobacco. Noticing how bad the smell is definately shows how much you're ready for this. I LIKED the smell to begin with, would you believe?! I think I was so set on the thought that I was punishing myself, I was desperate to remind myself how nice it was. :o:rolleyes:
I seem to be experiencing "5-minute panic attacks" every once in a while and I can only assume its the nicotine withdrawal. What I do find odd is my muscles and skin, especially my arms and back, also has a funny sensation (ie too much oxygen with slight spasm after a heavy training/gym session).
I try to stay busy with work, or go for a walk or something that takes the mind of the habit/craving.
Champix does not take away the craving, it only makes it bareable.
All those baby sweet little capillaries opening up again (can almost hear them whooping with joy ) now smoking has been banished, and richly oxygenated blood is truly reaching the very surface of your skin.
I will never forget the first post I read on this site, it was about circulation and how quitting had improved a guys performance because more blood was getting 'there'...next post was from a lady saying she had printed out, laminated and was going to put the post on her fridge for her OH to read!
so slight pins and needles is obviously nothing compared to what you as a man should expect
Its goodbye day 3. Tomorrow I will be posting in the 4-7 day cat.
Btw, day 3 was the worst so far, mentally. Had a rough time with missing the habit, wondering why I decided to quit etc. But Day 3 got its ass delivered on a silver plate.
