So i'm on my second day and i'm going a bit crazy. I feel my situation is fairly unique so any advice would be amazing.
I basically only smoked as soon as I got home from work, just one rollup. Then maybe a few more if I went to the pub or on weekends, or a lot more if I went to a club.
This was fine, but eventually I became hugely dependent on that after work cigarette and by the afternoon I really was ready for it. So now I'm trying to quit, I have an ecig which I'm scared of continuing to use as it doesn't really cure my cravings, while at the same time giving my body the nicotine that's keeping me hooked.
Exercise and eating seems to be working, going to need some help though!

This is going to sound very strange...I'm only on day 18 or 19...reading Max's post to you and I'm thinking what was day 2 like? I honestly can't remember. I know it was the Eatser weekend, the saturday but thats it! So yes it gets easier, much much easier, the habit is still there for you and it is retraining your brain t accept that you dont smoke, maybe go to the shop on the way home from work and buy a load of fruit ( grapes are good it you like them because you can peel the skin off with your teeth as you are eating them-good hand/mouth thing, also they are nice if you freeze them-bit like sorbet)
Anyway, keep posting and let us know how you are doing xx

Welcome to the forum Paul! Join us in the social group set aside for April quitters (see days 4-7 :D)
Additionally with the E-cigs, I have them too, both with and without nicotine oil. I have not used one at all. I think this is a better way to go for you because nicotine addiction is actually quite weak even in 40 a day smokers. we wake up for thirst, we wake up for hunger, but not for nicotine. The reason for smokers having such a hard time is the conscious dependency we have for them. The habit is the hardest thing to break.
By smoking an e-cig, either with or without Nicotine you could reinforce the habit. E-Nicotine is much better for you than a cigarette, having basically the same effect as Caffeine, however the issue remains:
When you don't want to be addicted, you don't want to be an addict.
Good luck with your quit! We're always here if you need us, and when you don't
Feeling much better today, had a great last half of the day - got home, used my ecig and exercised and I was fine the whole night. I even had a beer without getting cigarette cravings! Onwards and upwards. Guess I'll replace the ecig with jaffa cakes or something after another couple of weeks, each step at a time haha.
