Day 4! Good/Bad? I don't even know!

Hello,

So I find writing on here therapeutic. So I'm likely to do this daily.

Day 4 over and still smokefree. Yay!

Been grumpy, emotional, annoying (u know your annoying when your driving yourself mad).

I have developed mouth ulcers, and I feel full but I just want to eat everything.

But..... I haven't smoked for four days, and according to my app have already saved £19. Not too shabby in my opinion.

The cravings have been there but I have been trying to shake them away- in some cases physically shaking my head to try and rid them... Ha!

It's funny how the cravings are just like the itch to just do something, I feel like I have forgotten something, or I'm hungry or I need to just move. So I just shake my head, drink some water, clean something!

I must admit I find it easier to be in work.

But all good so far! Can't decide if I'm starting to feel the pressure yet! I'm honestly not sure how I feel!

But bring on day 5!!

Thanks for reading! Laura x

You're doing great Laura, the first week is the toughest and after that things do get easier :)

You said about drinking water, well that (oddly) helps with the craves. No idea why but it does help make them bearable!!

Ooh, and please do post on here as often as you like, it's a great help and there's always someone around to help or encourage you :)

Keep going, you'll start to notice your health improving really soon which is fab. We're both still young, but I have to say I feel so much better for stopping - it really is amazing!! Can't believe I put up with it so long xx

Hello,

- and - I feel full but I just want to eat everything.

Writing on here I find it to be the same as you Laura, that's why there are so many posts, and the number I have doesn't include the 150+ I did last quit :S

As for the water, I found out from my doctor that most of the time we have a craving for smokes we are actually craving water. Last time I quit I found the same thing as last time. Less need to shove things in my mouth (...food), and less cravings for smokes.

That said I find the sugar and chocolate cravings go through the roof. I believe it's the body's want to get those endorphins it would normally get from the production of oxycotin(sp?) nicotine causes (that lovely feel good vibe). That's why exercise helps to get rid of the cravings too.

Water and exercise... I know which one I'm taking! (and some chocolate too...)
