I'm laura, 26 and finally convincing myself its time. Have tried a couple of serious attempts in the past- and more recently have been going a day or two- but giving back in and buying a pack.
Lately I have been feeling all the negative feelings associated with smoking, lack of energy, not concentrating, headaches, nausea. It was getting me so frustrated- I even did the dreaded calculator test and was shocked at how much I spent.
So on the 10th I put on a patch, and made a choice! However- honestly I did stupidly have plans that eve and after many a glass of wine, pinched a cigarette- then was sick the whole evening. But thanks to it making me sick, It's made me more determined. So I didn't class the 10th as a day- and started from scratched on the 11th.
Just finished day 3! I'm proud, feeling very positive and thankfully I'm not even craving stupid amounts of chocolate!!
I have the quit kit calendar on my fridge- the email and text support and even the app to help see how much I'm saving- and it's really positive too have all that support.
But- Would love a quit buddy if anyone is interested!!! You can never have too many supportive people around you.
Thank you for reading- I'm really excited to begin this journey!!
Good luck to everyone else who is quitting, hopefully we can all do it xxx

Keep close to the forum; it worked for me, the support's great; although you might not like or agree with everything you read, there will always be someone with the answers you need to any queries that come up.

Hi Laura
Welcome to the forum and well done on deciding to quit!!
Am 29 and know exactly what you mean about those negative feelings with smoking, it really is horrible isn't it?
But the good thing is that all that rubbish goes really quickly and you'll soon be feeling, looking and smelling fab!!
I stopped with patches as well, and would say that if you're not already it would be a good idea to take them off at night - they gave me a lousy night's sleep and nightmares. Just stick a new one on as soon as you wake up and you shouldn't crave. If you think about it, we didn't smoke in our sleep so our bodies don't need nicotine when we're asleep!!
Posting on here really helps, there's always someone around to give you advice or support - I have literally no willpower and it's kept me off the fags so am sure it will you too
Yes I figured it out the first night- strangest nightmares ever ha!
I'm pretty sure it won't always be this easy, and I know I will have some bad days but I'm hoping I will have all of you to help me out!
Well done by the way- u have quit for ages!
Thank u xx
You're very welcome
You will have some ups and downs but if you keep thinking about why you quit it really does help!! And posting here is a massive help, someone else has always had the same feelings as you and can reassure you it's going to get better or give you advice how to feel better.
