Ok,

So my trip into melbourne Idid really wel. Didn't even want a smoke. Didn't want when I sat outside with my mum while she had two. I'm really please to find out that my sister and her husband are quitting too. Then my little sister had a go at me for the food I eat (i have banana bread in the cupboard), and I got pretty angry and wanted one. Thankfully I dont have any and mum only smokes menthol *ew*

That's fab, well done!!

If you can be with smokers and not want one that is a really positive step :D

And how lovely is it that your sister and her hubby are stopping too? YAY!!

I quite "liked" menthols, lol.

i hate banans so wouldn't want banana bread in my cupboard but why was your sister miffed about that?

hey and well done for not caving, you had said how worried you were about the visit- *gives Tal a big pat on the back*

My little sister thinks that I should only be eating salad, as I'm planning a baby (late next year...) and I need to lose weight. She's not a health nut but thinks I should be on her diet - soy milk and beans and health shakes. I get really angry because she always has a go at me, as does my other sister (oldest is naturally thin), but my littles sister was a bigger girl too, until she went bulemic. I am just trying to do it the healthy way by changing my diet. For me that's eating more than one meal at the end of the day. I need to eat more regularly (which is definately happening since I came off the smokes), and cut out the carbs (which apparently you can become carb-dependent?) Anywho, I'm slowly changing my diet, I go for a walk at the very least every two nights (and only that little because of my shifts at work and homework level).

I gave up smoking, though she doesn't know that yet. I think I'm doing really well and i need her to just back off. Permanently would be nice.

Edit - Kat73 - "Well done for keeping it together and especially for spending time around a smoker so early in your quit"

I'm pretty good with that actually, it's at social occassions that I get a bit antsy. Most of the time I'm around people who smoke so often I barely even notice, so it just doesn't bother me. Except that it stinks I guess. Give me a party and a drink or two though and I'm in for a fight!

I know just what you mean, I avoided alcohol like the plague in the early days and then risked it in "controlled circumstances"!:o Sounds silly I know, but I know what a major trigger it is for me so I wasn't going to risk it without doing all I could to make it "safe".

I sort of grabbed the bull by the horns with booze (well more "I've given up smoking I'm b***ered if I'm giving up drinking too") and I had a few dodgy moments - and several embarrassing ones *but* got through it unscathed!!

That is risky though and you can only do it if you know your friends aren't going to let you smoke!!

So it looks like l may be Talien2 for some time, I've not heard back from the moderators yet :(

I'M writing on my phone so I apologise for the atrocious spelling and random capitalisation :)

So today went well, better than l had expected really. l wanted a smoke but didn't? Hard to explain, I don't want one, or l may want one but l constantly feel the need to chew on something or set my teeth. 1 find that if I doht have something to drink or chew l end up grinding my teeth together and getting a headache as a result. Most of what I chew is not good for me :(

I've put on weightbut lm not 100% sure on the Cause. I guess if I can be this worried about the weight issue I'm doing okay quit wise.

Anyone else get hungry when they know that they're full? Is that the smoking or something else entirely?

Okay 2:37AM here. Whoops. Sleep time for me!

Night all + Goodluck with your Continued quits! xoxo -Tal
