Well it is officially the start of my third day without smoking, and I feel like total crap
Is it normal to be so anxious and depressed, achy and tired. My stomach hurts too, this might be an over share but I am constipated and my stomach is cramping and feeling super bloated. I feel like I gained a million pounds in the last few days lol. Also, here's a weird question but did anyone else's mouth hurt when they first quit smoking? My gums hurt and I've got one of those little tiny painful bumps on my tongue, my mom always called them lie bumps lol.
Also, I've been having really weird dreams lol.
Other than that I am really proud of myself. I never thought I'd actually quit, much less quit cold turkey. Just going to tough it out over the next few days and pray I start feeling better soon, just looking for some advice from other people who have already quit

Well done for the decision to quit. You will feel crap, but you will soon start to notice so many positive benefits as you get all these toxins out of your body, so hang on in there.
I believe nicotine is a laxative,so that might account for your bowel issues. This will settle on its own eventually, but there is gentle stuff you can get over the counter at the chemists to ease those symptoms.
I had awful problems with bleeding gums, and my dentist sis advised getting Cortosyl and swilling that around. I only used it for a few days and that sorted that out.
hang on in there it is worth it ...and you are worth it. xxx
Hi TheLookingGlass - hang in there - everything you've mentioned is very common. The constipation and the sore gums are experienced by most people when they quit. With teeth and gums, for a lot of people, things get worse before they get better because smoking masked problems that have always been there. Rinsing the mouth with salty water helps.
Good morning Looking Glass and a big welcome to the forum
Congratulations on getting to day 3, you're doing brilliantly. I got both of the problems you describe but they settled down within a couple of weeks. Your body needs to readjust to not being bombarded with poison and it takes a little while. Be patient and look at it as healing, I know the bloated feeling is unpleasant but even that is a sign that your body is recovering.
Once it's all settled down you're going to feel fantastic!
Stay strong and please let us know how you're getting on
TLG, I found my gums started to bleed, it is the circulation returning to them apparently. As Becky mentioned Corsodyl may help, gum desease/smoking are highly linked. When I hit my one month I am going to have my teeth all polished up and sparkly
Keep strong over the next few days and remember you CAN do it!
I read an expression that i found good to remember

All the best - things do get better.
*Phew* I was really worried there for a minute. I rinsed with some mouth wash and it seemed to help. Thanks for the advice

N.O.P.E!!- Not One Puff Ever.
That is a really great idea. I think maybe when I reach my one month I'll have to do that, which has got me all pumped up to keep going! Thank you for the encouragement.
Thank you guys for all the encouragement. I am feeling much better today, and already some of these symptoms have started to subside. I am deff still having my moments but I am so proud of myself. I am officially on day four !!! YAY
