This is my first post on here so I think it 's only polite to say hello first.
Hello
I've been hanging around for a couple of weeks eaves dropping, but thought it was time I chipped into the conversation.
I stopped smoking eight weeks ago using cold turkey after reading the excellent 'Freedom from Nicotine (free download). It's been a mixed ride so far, loving the high of kicking the drug but simultaneously feeling a tad weird, eating a bit too much and waking up during the night. Usual stuff I think, from what I've read.
Anyway, yesterday evening walking into town I suddenly got a mild feeling of elation, a sudden excitement at being a non-smoker. And actually feeling like a non-smoker as well. The feeling has lingered into today and I've eaten less and felt generally more relaxed.
I don't expect this state of harmony to last forever but it's a very welcome beacon along the way. Does this experience resonate with anybody else?

Well done on going so brilliantly
I do know what you mean, when I quit first I was on the ceiling - it was like I was on something, really weird
Then the feeling of saying "I don't smoke" was so good!!
Saw someone walking through town today puffing on a fag, and my first thought was "what an idiot" - almost forgot I was one of those idiots until a few months ago!!
