Or new lifestyle? Quitting the fags inevitably means stuffing faces and looking through a few topics, it is an issue. Many of us have smoked instead of making breakfast or grabbing a bite to eat, so not smoking could leave us finally wanting to fill the void a fag has left and finally recognise hunger.
If you don't have a weight problem yet, chances are things will settle down and you will be able to get back to being comfortable. If you are already overweight or have been there, you may be worried you are going to undo all your hard work and gain all the weight.
I think food/drink logging works, you don't have to write everything down. Just take a pic of anything you are about to put into your mouth. Don't tell me you are too busy, you are not too busy to stuff your face and if smoking you would have 2 min fag break
I think the obvious will be drink more fluids, not juice or processed rubbish. Try giving up other stimulants like coffee as caffeine triggers insulin (fat monster) and switch to decaf. If you take sugar already but are drinking more, try cutting it down/out as that will cause a gain. If you are going to snack, try recognise the reason you are doing it. Chew gum, but don't pig out on sugary food, it won't help the addiction and more inclined to swap.

Caffeine is a stimulant like smoking, addictive and all the coffee heads that need 2 shots before getting dressed think the world has ended if they ran out. These energy drink companies have it sussed, seen kids drinking the stuff. Decaf, deal with withdraw headache for about 3 days and you'll be fine lol

My parents went on a de-tox a few years ago and cut out all tea and coffee. They were both going round like zombies for days 'cos of cutting it out!!
But flipping heck did they get their own back on me for laughing :rolleyes::eek:
Ten months ago I replaced the nic monster with two new aspects to my life. One was the continuous snacking - it was as thought I had to be doing something with my mouth. The other was attempting to replace nicotine with adrenaline.
I have always kept fit one way or another - whether it was Karate, jogging, gully scrambling, co steering, resistance training etc. But when I stopped smoking I over-trained because I had the extra oxygen and energy. This led to being really tired and exhausted most of the time. This then increased my already need to nibble and eat. Vicious circle!
So - result = aching and tired individual developing a belly pot.
To put it right I kept a daily diary of my food intake per meal and kept a day in-between training sessions. I also put the £1 per day away in the moneybox to remind me of life's purpose. My diary page's look like a mathematicians blackboard but it works.
I am a Latte person myself and I just heard you all roar with laughter ! But it is just as addictive and loads more fattening ! I also notice after drinking it that it reminds me of smoking because at times I swear I can smell fags !
I am trying to drink more herbal tea...Ginger and lemon is lovely
