I gave up on Wednesday 27th February at 7.30am. Went cold turkey until Saturday night and then used an inhalator as we were out having a drink with smokers.
It's so difficult! I was on 20 - 25 a day for the last 10 years. I'm 40 now and that's it - no more!

Its only has hard as you want to make it, keep with it and trust me it gets easier as each hour goes bye. I'm 40 years old too but i'd been smoking for 20 years, i'm on month 3 and i just can't understand why it took me so long to make the move. Its been very very easy for me and i think the reason behind that is 1.This forum ( believe me there are so many great, fantastic, funny and encouraging people here...........Max,Kat73 and Juju to name a couple and i promise you there are many more) 2. Determination is the key factor YOU MUST WANT TO QUIT 100% for it to work (no doubts)
My life now has changed so so much in just a couple of months...............and that is for the better. When you get a craving for a dirty little DEATH STICK just keep it in your head that your missing out on nothing only gaining everything by telling it to do 1.
I now only get a couple of cravings a day (and that's only after 8 weeks) but the time they last now are only seconds................trust me as every hour goes bye he is getting weaker and weaker.
So please please stick with it and lets all get healthier together
Welcome Missym and well done getting to day5. The first few days are the worst and they are behind you now. Just take it a day at a time and you will be fine.
Thanks for all your encouragement! I'm on day 6 and haven't used the inhalator since Saturday night. I'm hoping that the nicotine should be physically out of my system. Each day gets easier! There's no going back!
