It'll settle down in time ISHA.

Quitting is at the top of your agenda at the moment..so the weight can be dealt with later.

Sweet things start to taste even better once quit, so I try to avoid them.

Celery is really good....I read somewhere that it actually takes more calories to digest it than it gives....so perfect food for quitters! :)

Shame only 0.006% of the population actually like it! :D

Take care

Greg

Don't panic, your body has gone into shock a bit. I ate a hell of a lot more for the first couple of weeks then it settled down loads.

Have you tried frozen grapes? I haven't yet but they come highly recommended on this site, apparently better than sex! You could look them up on google?

Please don't worry about the eating. If it helps it helps. Any weight you put on will come off again.

Stay strong you two, stick together and you'll go far! :D

Hehe, I guess it depends what you do with them, now I know I'm going to have an erotic dream tonight, just hope it doesn't involve my Manager:eek: like the last one. Got to love Champix for these dreams :D

You're suppose to eat them, think chocolate but 100 times better! That's what I hear anyway. I keep meaning to try them

Why don't you try them and let us know? Perfect distraction :D

Hi isha, I used sugar free chupa chups. Once the lollipop was gone, I chewed on the stick thing - it really helped me :)

Good luck.

Crikey, more innuendos on this forum today than in a copy of Viz! Max has lost his niknaks, frozen grapes, whatever next?? Personally I'm chomping on twiglets but if the promise of an erotic dream is in the offing has anyone got any spare chimpax? I'll take some over to the 6 month plus room, seems like my request for an extension has started a party...off there next... :D

Well done all, another smoke free day done, we should be proud!

update:. I've spoken to mrs hawkeye (who's never smoked) on the subject of the grapes. She said alternatively frozen plums may prolong the time between meals, and if you can stretch to a frozen pineapple you'll certainly forget about smoking.

Here's something for you to laugh at if your bothered about putting on weight, I posted this approx just under 4 months into my quit, I ate the fruit and all the recommended ways but unfortunately the what felt like the whole of the super markets went down with it, E.G. family packs of Wotsits in a minute :o still never smoked though and gradually it went back to normal eating ....ish :) loooool

Yeh I put on a bit of weight and now most of it's gone although some still remains and looks better so I'm told, the object is to pack in smoking and then worry about about weight later if it bothers you.

Take the chance and use your quit, go an stuff all the guilty things youve always wanted to down ya neck as long as you don't smoke as it will prob help BUT it will come the day when you will have to stop it off and diet exercise or stop being a glutton and save you smoking money instead of eating it.

April last year this pic was posted so it's normal for you to want to eat the fridge, even the plug.

I can't stop eating either and I have a constant supply of boiled sweets. I will worry about the battle of the bulge when I've won the war of the Fags.

Ice lollys

Try sugar free ice lollys to suck on... Low in calories and keep you entertained...:D Also, when you quit, the best thing with my experience.. Is to keep really busy.. Walk, walk, walk, go to the gym, drink tea, clean the house, anything to keep you occupied!!!

there is a fun social group called "if the pants fit"! You should join!! As everyone else has said, the quit is way more important! When finally the waistline is more important than the cigs, you know you have cracked the beast!

When I quit first, I chewed lots of gum and drank loads of water 'cos I was so hungry!! That took the worst of it away :)
