Christmas Conquerors Group
Good idea Don, groups are really supportive and there's a few of you all supporting each other already
I would like to take the credit, but the plaudits go to Gladi8tor.
Hey Don, good work fella, only credit hoped for is if we work this through together successfully! We're on our way now!
Cheers
Ollie
Hi Ollie
Cool, I feel we need to spread the word more. And lets give each other a well deserved pat on the back for our efforts so far, with each passing day we get closer to the goal.
Don
Too right mate, Olls pats Big Don on the back
Spread the word and keep the faith mate
Ollie
The pat has been reciprocated.
Hey
Go to Quick links, social groups, Christmas Conquerors, join group and you're in.
Don
Good luck to all you fellas quitting in December, most would have left it til the new year.
Thanks HAZE,
As I see though, if I can get through this testing month I can get through anything, and whatever comes my way I have no excuses. In fact I dont have any now, not with the amount of support I have from this forum and that from my also quitting spouse.
Don
Just what Hazel said, well done you three guys. Good to see the rapport between you all.

Good luck to all you fellas quitting in December, most would have left it til the new year.
Very true Haze but how awesome is it to have quit for Christmas - best present ever!! Well done guys x
I will second that Karen. Plus I shall have extra pennies for those last minute prezzies.

Make sure you include yourself in the present list as a treat from yourself for kicking fags into the gutter!
It shall be a joint prezzie as my wife is also on the same journey. Maybe a nice long weekend winter break somewhere will be in order.

That sounds a lovely idea and I'm sure mrs Don will agree!
Big high fives for the Christmas Conquerors, as me Clarky and HadEnuf are a week now and Don is right there with us on day 6, celebrating his week tomorrow.
Really chuffed, great going guys. We make a great team.
Ollie.
Yes well done you 3, a great milestone, and one to be proud of. I am right there with you guys, day 6 as mentioned and going strong. But today is your day, go and treat yourselves with the weeks saved money, you deserve it.
Don :D:D:D
Good luck to all you fellas quitting in December, most would have left it til the new year.
Dunno about the other lads but that's why i chose December...always a better day for one reason or another and I wanted to just do it. You know when you have just had enough and really understand you are addicted to a harmful drug, not "enjoying" a free choice habit, and that psychologically Christmas may be a bad time to quit (in your own mind), so if I am gonna do it for good, it's probably a good time to do it... if that makes any sense? Reverse Psychology in a way. And every Xmas I wanted to remind myself how much better off I am as a non smoker. Or something like that. Probably mainly because I was skint though to be honest hehe
Anyway I'm glad I did..January is depressing enough on it's own!! HAHA

Good on you! You have chosen right too because you make a great team you and the other lads, you will all help each other!
I'm in. Just a quick post to let everyone know how helpful this forum has been. I quit at 7am on Monday (7th) morning and according to my smokefree app it's been 4days 9hours 4minutes and 37seconds since I quit!
The crazings seem to have no rhyme or reason with me. I assumed they would get less intense with time however today I have most certainly found the hardest out of the 4. Is this a common experience? I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that I threw my last pack of cigs away today. I had been keeping a pack in the car just in case and finally felt strong enough to chuck them away today. It has played on my mind ever since! It's like I feel naked without them. Like something is missing. I don't even think it's got anything to do with the smoking of them, just the fact that they aren't THERE. I still leave thew house with the same ritual - Wallet, fags, keys, phone! I wonder how long I will be saying that even as an ex-smoker. I bet that's a common experience!
Smoked minimum 20 a day for 14 years. I never thought I would be able to kick the habit and was resigned to forever being a smoker following a few ill-fated quit attempts in the past. I wish I had found this forum during my failed attempts to give up.
Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone on this forum and I hope to become more active as my health and lung capacity improve!
Well done, it should start getting easier now. Everyone is different and you are right, there is no rhyme or reason to anything about quitting. It didn't take long to stop checking for fags when leaving the house. Just take it one day at a time and soon it will be one week at a time and then a month at a time.
Welcome!
I still go through the mantra of fags, phone, money, keys, when I go out! That's after 6 months. It's just that when I say "fags", I really mean packet of chewing gum!
On day 4!!! feeling good about it but craving at the same time
The cravings will get less and less, youve done 4 days without smoking so you've shown you don't need them!! Stay strong x
Good to find this group, have just finished day 4 cold turkey, second time giving up,(1st time was ruined by occasional pub fags leading back to full time). Have been quite miserable but not overwhelmingly bad.
So this time I am determined to leave them alone for good. December seems a silly time to quit with it being party season etc but you can't help when you feel like doing it. Worried about tomorrow as got a night out...
Hi Waulie.
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your quit.
You sound very positive in your post, I'm sure this will be the one for you.
