So I think 'm doing fine, then out of the blue after a training course yesterday I forget that I have given up smoking and go to open my bag, then I remember that I have made the fab decision to stop and the most awful craving sets in for the whole evening, It was worse than week one! I have read posts from werthers etc explaining the horrors between days 23-30ish, so I was prepared..........
Anyway, I had a cheeky glass of red and went to bed! Explained how I felt to my kids (14, 11 and 6) and they were super well behaved.....
Hope all you 1 monthers are coping and not having these horrible unexplained super cravings.....
Good morning all

It's not that there are particular times in a quit when one can expect 'horrors' - it's just that every now and then, events/situations/emotions will crop up which you haven't encountered since quitting. Because you're becoming more comfortable now, these can hit you hard, and temporarily reawaken those obsessional smoking thoughts.
Have you done anything like this training course since quitting? Long days of new information, group of unfamiliar people perhaps? Probably a massive trigger! No wonder you felt like you did. And well done for not caving!
The good news is that the longer you go without smoking, the more triggers you beat down, until there are no situations left for you to face for the first time without a fag in your hand.
Keep going, and be proud of making it through a tough day. It will keep getting easier, promise.
Well done gally! the main thing to take from that major craving is how well you coped with it. You identified it, acknowledged it and dealt with it!
I agree with hels belles- my days were very much bad for me (but I think I got away lightly in week 3) so I suppose everyone’s bad days and times when they have bad days are different. I personally think (since my little rant on day 28!) that i really have come out the other side and feel much better and confident that I really am a non smoker and i suppose its taken me the month to believe that! i hope i make sense. You are doing so well- I have taken your advice in the running and started the couch to 5k training so off running tonight on my second day!
Briggins- the mile stones really helped me- I focused so much on this and the sad and low feelings have really started to pass now for me
Nifty, if a month has 28 days then a year has 336 days, which means its only 2 weeks until Christmas. I take it you've got all your Christmas shopping done..............
