Sunday...was last day of week 1..and was my hardest day yet...even told my partner that she was irritating me...and it was not her fault....I've since apologised....and feel a lot better today......no more days like that please....think it was a combination of lack of sleep, and situations where I would expect to smoke....it's behind me now...but I have been warned!!!!
Stumbled into week 2: Sunday...was last day... - No Smoking Day
Stumbled into week 2
Well done for getting through theweek Cymro. It does get easier honestly! Just stick with it and you will see
Ha!!!...Nutmeg...that did make me laugh...I take your point.
Thanks, Haze....it has to get better than yesterday....caught me completely unawares....perhaps I thought that previous hurdles I had already encountered would be far worse than a gardening weekend...but I was wrong...hopefully the experience will help me in the future....my stepson's gig on Wednesday is the next biggy...acoustic rock band, beers, and....well and conversation....nothing else!!!!
Thanks, Short Stuff....duct tape comment was an absolute classic, yeah!!!
Hey! Well done Cymro! Im so pleased you made it through your first weekend. You can do this. Just watch out for those ones that come out of the blue-Im not being negative but they might get stronger all the articles lead you to believe that the craves get less as time goes by but them ones out of nowhere dont for a while. So you just have to grit your teeth and ride them.THEY DO GO!! Im now into my 7th week and dont get them anymore.I only get the odd very faint split second desire for a fag about twice a day now : ) So pleased I stuck with it.All the best Cymro x
Hi Cymro
How did the gig go?
Where they good?
Hope you enjoyed the night and had a good mosh and a chin-wag
Soosan, may I ask what your quit method was please?
Cheers
Greg
Thanks, Soosan....that's good info....I do feel I am a better prepared now for the unexpected.
Hey, Nifty....yeah, gig went well...I'm obviously biased!!...really good night, great music, October fest real ale and cider, spent with some good company including my step daughter who although a smoker herself is really pleased with what I am doing....what was strange the usual rush outside for the smoking gang happened between sets...there are actually still a lot of non-smoking friends that stay inside...so I sort of changed allegiances for 10 minutes....and felt very good about it!!!....and seriously no craving until I was walking to get the last train home....but just did a virtual shrug of the shoulders and got on with it....well happy!!!
Hope things are going well with you both.
Well done you have done really well and should be proud of your self. This will get easier and easier. It is great whenthe kids are proud of you. You are a good role model and she may follow you and quit herself. Good luck Cymro
Thanks, Haze...and very true...both my stepchildren are smokers, but both are encouraging me...and I have a 15 year old daughter I made myself and she is absolutely delighted as I no longer have to hide out the back garden almost ashamed of my habit....she actually approached me a few weeks ago and asked me to give quitting a go.

Hi Greg. I used Nicquitin tabs minis.I used to smoke about 12 rollies a day (no filters) and wasnt sure of what strength to get so got the lowest 1.5 mgs and broke them in half.I found them very good. Not only did they stop the cravings they also helped when I was edgy, ratty, and generally feeling awful(but not craving).I took them for the first few days and then only when needed.Id recommend them to anyone.Brilliant! Good Luck Greg x Sue. [p.s. On previous attempts had tried patches-made me itch and dizzy,gum-Id smoke a fag straight after! and Champix etc? Didnt like the sound of them and have witnessed people who used them ending up suffering from depression and needing prescription drugs and counselling : ( ]
